  1. Mine don't look great - they seem to be taking turns to moult and its been going on for ages!! :-/
  2. Only if you are putting it near a public footpath. We have one around the garden to stop bullocks getting in. It runs off a couple of batteries and is strong enough to deter the cows, so I'm sure would work for cats.
  3. It certainly puts life into perspective, doesn't it?
  4. Keep it away from the others Denny, they are mean if they think that one is not up to par. Have you checked under the wings for any more injuries? Hope he makes it. Sue
  5. Local big DIYs are taking down display sheds around this time of year - I got one from B&Q for £30!! It might be worth ringing around??
  6. Congratulations to you both. Sue
  7. This looks like it might be the cheapest option - I've got some of these so I'll give it a go Kev, thanks. Sue
  8. I am going away for a month and am wondering if there is some sort of hopper feeder that I could use so that someone only needs to attend the birds every fourth day or so? I am feeding moulting mix so it would need to be something that will let the big beans and peas down without jamming. Taylors Choice have a hopper which might suffice but, it is expensive. Has anyone any other suggestions please? Sue
  9. You just watch him change his mind when they start earning big time.
  10. Thanks Mark.
  11. Can you explain why not Mark? Sue
  12. It is just eating the small grains Fletch. I'll try and get a photo up tomorrow Vanreets.
  13. My sister has just brought me a garden fantail she has bred. The bird was flying but has now stopped. It is eating and drinking however, it is very thin BUT the strangest thing about it is it's size - about the size of a thrush! I have given it calcium and garlic, any suggestions what else I can do with it? Please don't say the obvious as it is a much loved pet. Sue :-/
  14. Thanks Cemetery. Anyone else wanna win a campervan? Bump!
  15. Welcome. You look to be off to a good start. The only reason I would want a heater in my loft, would be to just warm it enough to stop the water freezing in the cold snaps.
  16. Not sure - the winner will be notified by 30th November 2009 so... some time before then.
  17. Thanks for your help everyone. I'm keeping everything crossed. Sue
  18. Thanks again all. ;D ;D Hubby has looked at the runner up prize and thinks he'd like a bit of that!! :
  19. Ooh, thanks Pete - I'll hold you to that! ;D ;D Thanks guys - keeping my fingers crossed.
  20. Does anyone fancy winning a brand new VW campervan? I am desperate for one! Everyone who enters has a chance to win and helps me to win one too! ;D Please help me to win. http://winacamper.fatface.com/shalstead Thanks Sue :)
  21. Sincere condolences to Pat's family and friends.
  22. Thanks guys, I will get some ordered now. Don't think they'd have loved these much - they'd certainly take some chewing!! ;D
  23. I put all my plastic eggs in a nest bowl, on the lawn overnight, ready for washing. They have all disappeared! > Either a stoat, which lives in the garden, or magpies must have stolen them - I hope they get a bad stomach ache! ;D Where is the best/cheapest place to replace them? I'll need about 30.
  24. If they look anything like mine do right now, no one will buy them!! I think that the whites look worse in the moult than the coloureds. LOL
  25. Post a photo - it helps if they look good.
