  1. Amazing that the bird will sit on your knee, unrestrained, the right way up, let alone upside-down. You really are the pigeon whisperer Jimmy. :)
  2. I think that I must have been lucky, they arrived when they said they would....just one thing...they came to collect the birds but didn't bring any boxes with them!! > > Luckily I had some and the guy promised that he would drop some off to replace them. Yeah. right. :
  3. I had mine on open hole, they were fit, collected their own nest material, were never hawked and I thought that it was the best option till I caught a cat in the loft!! > The cat had no problem getting in and out of the sputnik and in broad daylight - lucky that I was around and spotted it. The cat has long gone, but I shall never leave my birds as vulnerable again.
  4. Portsmouth ;D
  5. So you had already had some from the RPRA? They are very good at getting them to you very quickly, if you phone and explain you're desperate.
  6. Hmmm, good point Phil - I have a heap of rings left and was about to offer them but, its hard enough as it is to even get the birds you sell transferred. :-/ :-/
  7. Mark, don't pack in! You are in a bad position today - the east wind will have pushed them over to the west of the country - hang in there friend.
  8. A brilliant initiative. I'll look forward to reading how it progresses. Well done to all those involved. Sue
  9. LOL Off topic!! ;D ;D
  10. Absolutely brilliant, you look to have had a fantastic day. Ermmmm, where's the white 'dove' release? ;D ;D Congratulations. Sue
  11. Thanks Lee, that's a kind offer. David is helping out and I've just about finished breeding now so things are not just as hectic in the loft. Good luck with your move, I hope you'll both be happy in your new house. Now you're over here you'll have to be a Burnley supporter. UP THE CLARETS!!!!
  12. Good idea Lee. You've got the balls to go on the radio - I haven't!! : If it could be made good enough, you never know , he might even take it onto NW tonight. (Same gym as me too, except I've slipped a disk so am laid up for a while )
  13. Lee, I heard you and you didnt sound like a bampot at all!! Nor did you sound like a fancier trying to protect your racers, just a concerned member of the public, good on you. I sent them a text but they never read it out! Suex
  14. Phew! It's a hard call now, if they were older birds that had had a fright stopping them trapping, I would keep them in a week before letting them out but, I'm not sure with them being young, a week might see them too strong on the wing.......maybe a couple of days in???? What do the 'brains' on here think?? :-/ :-/
  15. Looking good...nice full crops.
  16. Good news. Thanks for the update.
  17. ;D ;D I'd love to say a blonde moment but, I'm afraid its more of a grey moment nowadays!! ;D ;D ;D
  18. This happened to me once. Richard told me how to sort it out...it was simple, but I can't remember what I did!! You could try PMing and asking him. ;D
  19. Well done Chris and thank you for taking it on. Sue
  20. Well done Pete. Thanks for taking it on. Sue
  21. Looking good Denny. They'll be back as long as the peregrine doesn't spook them. Sorry to read that Bristolkev. Hope you get some reported.
  22. Congratulations...makes me broody! Better stick to me squeakers. ;D Some of mine purr when they are getting peanuts - I think they are excited!! ;D ;D

    Ermmmm..please wouldn't go amiss. :
  24. Eh Mick, I dont know about Ireland but, round here if they are phone lines, you can ask for markers to be put on them so the birds see them. Different scale I know but I'm having a **** breeding this year and it's mainly me own fault! Scalped birds through allowing them to nest on the loft floor, squished babies in nest boxes and dropped and broken eggs (me). The ups and downs of pigeon huh? :-/ :-/
  25. Feel it for any break comparing it to the other. Might be a bumped wing, look under feathers for bruising. Any swelling in joints? Keep it separated in case its something more ominous.
