i am also looking forward to getting a pair of jan aardens in way of thanks from a mr and mrs Johnston of i think lincolnshire area for helping one of their birds out and i know that they have a few very nice aardens. you might see their name on back of homing world for racing a bird called invincible detori.before selling it back to Louella.so looking forward to seeing them gift birds are the best birds
just had a look at the weather for tomorrow's race .it looks like proberly the best day we have had all yb season. it also looks like the wind wont be that much.so hear is hoping for a good fair to all race . best of luck to all competing. www.xcweather.co.uk/
van reets are good sprint middle distance birds .jan aardens are very good distance but i think they take a while to mature be at their best. a couple of my mates are doing ok with Roland jancens for sprints.
if you are going to have an open bowl for them.then a balanced cat flap would be advised. it will take the weight of one bird two birds it will put it off balance and it will close.(ie if a cat jumps on it it will close sharpish) it is just a balanced board and not that hard to do
the moon is in it,s 2nd cycle of the year that is why it seems so low in the sky .it wont seem that low for another 4 months it happens 3 times a year .should have paid attention when you where at school .
some nice birds for breeding not the best lookers. but even a good looking bird would lose it,s looks after years of breeding. ugly pigeons win races as well and when they do then they dont seem so ugly.
ist take a way bit of old loft trim it down to a 10 by 6 for ybs next year.put small loft in the extra space.then start thinking about which late breeds and one or two others .i will pick for the xmus race.
