As long as the box is clearly marked with address and a contact number they will accept the birds in any kind of box. I have used the boxes that Del has mentioned from "Pets at Home", they are slightly smaller in size to what the couriers use and are only suitable to carry about 4 Ybs.

A lot of the old fanciers swore by it and the benefits it had on their birds. Sadly very few mole hills here in our local area.
