  1. Careful you had better not let her read ur posts on this thread Higg or ur for the high jump lol!
  2. Try 01383 728199 see how u get on.
  3. I dont really think fanciers can relax when these killing machines are in the mood. Once my birds are out i dont go anywhere, gotta be at the loft to see whats happening. Hopefully we pigeon fanciers get some piece from them towards the end of April or early May. Thats when i find it usually settles down and i can turn my back for the next few months and do other things. Cant do nothing about race days though with Percy, thev'e got more protection than children. :emoticon-0179-headbang: :emoticon-0179-headbang:
  4. ABSOLUTELY BRILLAINT WELL DONE BABY BIRD. :emoticon-0137-clapping: :emoticon-0137-clapping: :emoticon-0137-clapping: :emoticon-0137-clapping:
  5. Yup Homer good for the continuation of the sport. :pidge: :pidge: :pidge:
  6. You are correct i'm afraid Peter. I dont think any of the Big races will be won just now, so i dont see what the hurry is. Iv'e seen all this before, i wont be rushing in just to get my birds burnt out before the season is even half done. I dont want to take out of them what i am slowly hopefully trying to put into them. Just need a fair crack of the whip at the right times.
  7. Agree with Peter Pandys coment. Also put some Barley into the mix with a little Wheat Germ Oil, that gets them going. Plenty Grit & Minerals as well and it shouldnt be too long til she lays. If u manage to get her to take to a dummy egg like Peter Pandy said slip her another one 2 days later. You can then use this pair as feeders and that will get her into breeding condition and motovation. If she goes through all the stages until the ybs are big she should then lay her first real eggs. Good luck m8.
  8. Like yer style peter lol. Thats what i would call using ur Napper! Most fanciers would have just kept them in the basket once caught and thought to hell with it and went away training. Personally i dont like to train til its about 12c . Think it takes less out of them, especially when their not fit.Just like to go along slowly. It has been dry and sunny lately but a wee bit cold at times so i will only proceed with caution. Can still get cold winds into early May as per the norm.
  9. TO be honest i'm nowhere near ready, not even started yet. Still plenty of time i think.
  10. well done to the combine, common sense should prevail always. :emoticon-0137-clapping: :emoticon-0137-clapping: :emoticon-0137-clapping:

  12. Well done pal. If only every training toss was like that m8. :emoticon-0138-thinking:
  13. Very true Walter. :animatedpigeons: :animatedpigeons:
  14. Good stuff m8 dont chase them off their territorial and sometimes come in handy when u need a little help. Great how they sometimes give the game away if u know what i mean. Hawk got a starling or sparrow tonight behind the loft and it was squeeling for its life, however it took it away no problem with its feet. I can consider myself lucky as my birds were out at the time some just froze and half a dozen scarpered!
  15. wouldnt worry about to be honest big man most ybs will have them when their reared in same nest as their nest mate.
  16. Could have been a few crows or a cat. Hopefully not a Goshawk. WITH A BIT O LUCK IT WAS SOME CROWS, sometimes good allies to have on ur side !
  17. Yup could be, good point Del. Have seen some lovely well bred ybs single & in pairs reared from a single parent. Just look at me lol! :emoticon-0140-rofl: :emoticon-0140-rofl:

  20. Lovely wee d,chq in ur hand m8. Thats how to rear them keep it up.
  21. Yout not seeing it happen but dont delude yerself m8 thats exactly whats happening i'm afraid. :o :o :o
  22. Spot on m8, quicker something gets done the better for all bird lovers!
  23. Have noticed also that single reared ybs dont seem to develope fret marks on the first few primarys. Gonna stick my neck out though and say when there are two in the nest they develope fret marks POSSIBLY down to the change over from the pigeons natural soft feeding supply to hard feeding. When there is two in the nest the supply will run out quicker. When only one in the nest it maybe lasts a little longer and maybe partly explains why we dont see fret marks on single reared ones. jmo.
  24. Good day m8, welcome to basics. :emoticon-0157-sun: :emoticon-0157-sun:
  25. Welcome aboard roberto.
