No diffrent from my place most days... Weans on trampolines or throwing the toys around... Footballs off the veranda... Usually doesn't trouble them as mines are used to it all.. But have lost races due to it... Usually erupts when doos are due from race 😂 😂
Race controllers have few tools to work with... Weather forecast is number one and to send young pigeons to a race point on the basis of a small window of weather or half chance of a liberation is nonsensical IMO... There's always next week. Same guys that want doos at lib points regardless of conditions are the same ones to shout the odds when we get slaughtered... Not a dig at yourself or any one individual just an opinion on how the fancy is going unfortunately. Birds come first.
Think the guys with good returns massively out number the ones with bad returns Charlie. Lauder must be the best starting race point Ayrshire has had for years... Always helps when we've a cracking pair of guys controlling and covoying/driving right enough
Very well done to the winner and again some fantastic performances from guys in the far west... Cree and cuthbert 9th open.. cowan and findlay John Sheppard up there and David Harris with his only entry scoring 3 section 41st open
The Ayrshire yearling belongs to whittlets club Mick. Secretary is Mrs Murray 01292 264841. The other Ayrshire bird is an ardeer bird I'll check and pass you the owners number cheers
Ardeer Midweek are at cockenzie tomorrow... Liberating around 3pm. Basketing is at Ardeer HS on Garven Road Stevenston 10am - 11am. Anyone wishing to send pigeons as trainers welcome. Contact John Simpson 07854100127.
I don't know enough about it to preach but after heavy thunder and a forecast of warm weather and 'steel grey' skies, I decided to keep what's left of my very small team for another day... Would the fancy have accepted a holdover or the race being cancelled due to these factors... I feel for the guys making decisions as my gut told me not to send birds this week due to forecast but I don't think I could have cancelled a race for the SNFC on my gut feeling leaving myself open to a lynching as looking plainly at the weekend it was reasonable for racing!? Just my thoughts on trying to peice together a very strange weekend of racing across the full country. Cheers
Kept my powder dry this week due to forecasted skies... Something I learnt from my Dad years ago, who wouldnt even train a short toss in such conditions, as the birds orientation is massively disrupted Hopefully the majority work guys.
Hasn't been easy this year between covid brexit, bird flu etc... Hopefully next year things go to plan...maybe the federations will get together and take us to the coast and the national organisations will scrap the inland nationals in May.. More chance of Scotland winning the euros 😂
