Probably still to fit a bead down the corners to finish it off

Wooler for Ayrshire, would like to think we're looking at a Friday race as best of weather is gone by Saturday
-
Another great race from Lauder for Ayrshire federation. Well done race team π

Have always used a multi vitamin in water in the form of abidec for kids would always have used this Wednesday or Thursday....very cheap and think it's another little thing that helps keep the birds in good health and condition. As far as vitamin c before or after race ect I wouldn't bother but I would rather clean water day of race marking and always a good electrolyte/restorative type product on return.

Moved away from Stevenston, I'm sure he sold all his birds a while back before he moved away. If it's the same fella π not many Englishmen with show doos in Stevenston

That seems most direct route and suppose is the route they'd take when the wind is in their favour and they can get nice and high. On a hard day when they're low taking that westerly side would be a tough gig through that those hills and valleys in border area
-
What's the thoughts on the route they take from likes of Perth and Fraserburgh I'd imagine a direct route would mean coming down through the Ettrick hills and down through Cumbria or they would stay on east side until south of Pennines then dog leg across? Anyone any knowledge? Be interesting to compare returns in different wind conditions over the years

I could possibly help him out I've a lad thinking about taking my lofts will chase him up π

Nonsense he flew his fancys out daily and they're well looked after ...his loft is across the garden from where I raced to last few years and he would always have them well looked after .... regarding getting racers and letting them out that's a different matter he probably needed abit of advice on how to break them to his loft as his experience is all in the high flyers etc I reckon the fancy birds don't have the same instincts to return to previous breeders Think there's been enough said about it now anyway so move on.
-
Actually lives in Ardrossan has loft in saltcoats at his shop and Ardrossan at his home....has high flyers and fancy breeds so no experience with racers.... to label someone a scumbag when you don't know the guy is bit much fella l. He's a very likable guy actually just needs someone to give him some advice and guidance. Think about for a minute why would the guy get birds take them home and let them straight out makes no sense.
-
Totally shocked at this ... Geoff and Catherine lovely couple hopefully the birds can be found. Obviously these scumbags are involved in the sport so someone must know something.
-
Ryan by the sounds of it this is obviously well thought out and will be professionally managed so in my opinion it's a great idea so go for it, also another great way of promoting the sport and keeping it going. Unfortunately I've had to close down my small loft and will only retain a couple of pairs of birds so having two Scottish OLRs to enter will be my interest in the sport for the season ahead until I can get started again. Definitely like the idea of the location of your venture π

Always used colombovac never had any issues always make sure all old birds done annually I would usually do them around Christmas time before I paired them in February. Liked young birds done later than most folks usually liked them on the wing before jagging them.

Will be going down for the weekend haven't anything organised yet but I'll be there Friday to Monday π»

Doesn't have to be strictly beans or barley. If you chose to hopper feed use a single grain so yes beans or barley work best u can then supplement the birds with some sport mix or small seed if u wish. Hopper feeding during winter is ideal if your short on time during short daylight hours as long as they've access to clean water then they will be fine with the hopper. As for during the race season I've never tried hopper feeding but if I were to try it I would hopper feed the beans and also supplement this with a good racing mixture to add some fuel in the form carbohydrate and fats. If your starting out I'd be more inclined to stick to more conventional methods with a mixture, feeding once a day to appetite during the close season, during racing season I'd recommend feeding at least twice a day and breeding birds should have food infront of them at all times. The mixture which you feed can change throughout the season as demands increase due to racing breeding etc. That rabble probably confuses you further but the main aim is to keep the birds happy and to keep them fit and healthy enough food to keep them content but not too much as to make them fat, you will read about lots of different ways to feed them so it isn't really an exact science much depends on how you race them ie how often how far and how much work they have between races. The one thing I would definitely say is don't change too much too often

Hopper feeding beans or barley is ideal throughout winter months ...only ever used pellets as a supplement. Hopper feed the beans year round even and introduce breading mix to pots in the nest box during the breeding season...the beans will always be there as a back up so they never go short
