  1. About 5:15 to 5:45 I got the error. I am now looking into a completely new solution may take a little while to come about but should get rid of these problems forever. Will post up how its going. Richard
  2. Good to hear the birds came through well, it sure is some feat to get birds from Lerwick, just look at the map! Well done.
  3. Dont know Gez, not been able to get on off this computer (no internet explorer) will try it on pc when I get chance.
  4. The position should be advertised, within the combine or in the fancy press, you dont get people comming forward if they dont know what you want them to do. Many of the press officers do the job off their 'own bat' once they have it, however some are given expenses. I think the reward of being press officer is enough to be visiting the top notch lofts and handling some of the best birds in the country.
  5. Well done
  6. Well done Clocky, Jimmy, and Kaybee.
  7. To be fair I think this is the fault of the combine. Where is a combine press officer? Where is the publicity that our winners deserve? Look at the way other national and classic clubs opperate in this country, none are perfect, but we are far from being like any of them.
  8. At least now we have Bourges,, roll on the 7th :)

Jack Barkel's post regarding the length of the secondary flights might be of interest. Think its on the eyesign thread though.
  10. There were alot of tried birds going over in 4's and 5's in the hour before we got our UNC Lillers pigeons, they'd been flying a long time and were getting nowhere fast. They definately werent UNC birds either as the first one (from UNC Lillers) on the allotments where I was, was about an hour after these birds going over and was provisionally 4th combine 13,800 birds last night. Well done to my cubmates Dawson Bros & Stephenson with that 4th combine bird, same one was about 70th combine from Brookland a couple of weeks ago, when another clubmate was 3rd combine - well done Campbell & Hall - so a couple combine races left leaves 1st and 2nd combine to be got,,, hopefully mine from the yb national :)
  11. The lower baskets are always liberated first to combat the 'push down' from the birds liberated above. Been raining here most of the morning with some mist, seems to be clearing now, hope they get through ok.
  12. What time were they up?
  13. Your post was moved to the 'My Website' thread.
  14. Any luck in finding somewhere Archie?
  15. Can't blame you for trying Mike, I know I would have Cracking performance by the way
  16. Think there are a few Farnbrough's but if its in Farnbrough Village Kent, thats where The Racing Pigeon newspaper is based.
  17. We certainly could do, I'm all for it. Maybe another idea would to have a competition on the website/forum here and have a trophy/certificate in Mickies memory. Something just come to mind would be an exeptional performance in a season, open to all members to claim in. Could be a novice fanciers first win, an exeptional performance over the season by one bird or a team result in one race, etc. voted in a poll by members of the forum in he closed season. Thoughts?

  25. How about this for spooky... Got home from Uni (St. Andrews Uni) just the other week, started getting back into doing my birds, you know getting them used to me, etc.. Had them out, maybe it was the Wednesday, so 3rd time out when I've been home, well they brought this little red chequer hen back in with them upon trapping. I picked her up and looked at the ring, GB, fair enough, and a telephone ring, code 01334... which is the code for the St. Andrews area!! Whats the chances eh? :X ;D
