Off the grape vine heard that its carry on as the handbook. So first inland national, Eastbourne or somewhere near.
  2. Could be a couple of days. Could be a week or so after you wean the ybs.
  3. I think they'll be fine, it be like moving birds from the yb loft to the ob loft, just a change of section. Takes them a few times to get used to the new door, but should get used to it fairly quickly.
  4. Hi Jack, I've witnessed the same. Waiting at a friends loft for birds from Bourges 550 miles. About half six on the morning of the second day, one of the candidates' mates started calling and generally making a racket, ten past seven his hen was home and in the clock . Amazing. Richard
  5. Fifers email:
  6. Would like to thank couple of fanciers on the forum for breeding me birds, last year, this year, and whenever else . Stopped off at home for the weekend and here's some photos Pic DSC00116 - Youngsters out yesterday, different ages so some flying some settling off Pic DSC00117 - No no, far too much like hard work, will try that flying game after 40 winks ;D
  7. Thanks for the offer Linda, I've sent you a pm
  8. !Harry Houdini!
  9. What the sport is all about :)
  10. See http://www.pigeonbasics.com/liberationweather/site20.html If you go to a site like www.streetmap.co.uk you will be able to find exactly where Finmere Airfield is.
  11. Hi, After speaking to the Secy of my club, I'd decided not to race any ob's this year. Sorry about that Linda :-/ Richard
  12. Hi, I'm looking for a copy of 'Pigeons in Two World Wars', if anyone has a spare copy, or knows where I could get one please let me know
  13. Going off what I just read on the BBC website, looks like its bird flu, but not the 'deadly' one. Being treated like in the event of discovery of Newcastles (PMV).
  14. If the birds on natural are only flying 20 mins, dont force them, just have them out a few more times a day, they will clap back up and do another 20 mins or so each time
  15. I thought the NFC auction site was run for the benefit of the NFC, i.e. all monies going back to them :-/ Maybe I'm mistaken,,, Andrew who gets your £10 + % fee's then?
  16. As it was said in the pub last night, its a bit harsh on the fanciers who arnt allowed to even let their birds out of the loft until May 1st, no chance to have them ready in time for the 13th :-/
  17. Beat me to it pigeonland!, your right with the new installation/upgrade options, but the upgrade will NOT work for >any< version of windows, only 98, ME upgrade to XP Home Edition.
  18. I've never updated a version of windows, but I'd have thought your info would be saved, if not you should be told about it before it goes ahead and upgrades your system. Looked on the microsoft site and it says the upgrade works from win 98 to xp. Link: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/upgrading/default.mspx
  19. When you call them in after exercise, do you have a feed waiting for them? If not put a pinch of trapping seed in each box. With youngsters I put 1 part trapping mix to 1 part chopped peanuts and when I call them in I throw some of this in on the floor for them, they hear the noise of it hitting the floor and go bezerk trying to get in
  20. Its either get a copy of XP upgrade disk ( not sure if it will upgrade from 98 ). Or get a new machine - there have been major increases in performance and security in the last 8 years, and I dont think prices have been lower than at the moment. Another option if you want to get the most uptodate gear would be to wait until January 07 when Windows Vista comes out (the upgrade of XP). The wildcard option would be dump Windows and get a Mac..lol
  21. I'm not sure if Microsoft have been updating win98 for a few years now. I think it will be more that they wont support it with their new software releases (the new MS Office and Internet Explorer, etc). Mind if your on a veteran 98 machine maybe its time for an upgrade :)
  22. Sorry, maybe missleading, I mean no donations have been received. Indeed Andrew took out some advertising for a time, and of course thanks to everyone who participated in the recent Funds Auction we had (sellers may have donated to the auction - I didnt take a sellers tally!). Just the way I see it; if someone wants to sell a couple of items on here, thats fine , if someone wants to buy a few items off here, thats fine - 2 happy visitors so far and if the seller then wishes to give us a donation for providing the platform to sell the item(s), thats fine too - 2 happy visitors and a happy webmaster....lol :)
