Southampton are looking fantastic. Really glad to see it as after all the vultures nicked their main players I think we all feared the worst for them. No doubt the big clubs will be back in again to nick more players (and maybe even the Manager too). But hope they can continue to build on what they have done. If they get into Europe that really would be something.

For me the problem with wing stamps is if a non fancier gets the bird they will never think to open the wing and look for contact details. I have used telephone number rings this year, I had one reported out of about 6 lost. So for me, the cost/hassle of getting/putting on the telephone rings was worth it. First year racing next year, the only thing that puts me off the phone number rings is if it slows down getting the rubber off if they put it over it or above it.

Haha if that is the case I need to go to spec savers Tony. Your birds always look immaculate mate. I reckon if local lads get your strays in they put em to stock.

Big difference in opinions here but both make a case for what the believe in and truly think. Regardless of who is right or wrong (if anybody) surely the point of an open internet forum is to have these sort of discussion and cause debate? If we agreed all the time how boring would life be!

Plan for 2015, (will be my first year racing)... I Have 12 late breds that will be raced as OB's 2015 but only sent Inland. Not expecting them to set the world on fire but will be happy to get them some experience and hope to have a handful left at the end of the season so i can test them out properly as 2 year olds. With YB racing I hope to breed a good sized team and be competitive throughout the programme. If I can nick a few tickets and be left with a good batch of birds to take into 2016 as yearlings I will be very happy.

I would/will help as/when possible mate but me and Tony live just over 90 miles apart. Really do hope Tony chooses to carry on flying though. Even with minimal training this year he still had some fantastic results with OB's and did better with YB's then some guys who are up the road everyday.
