Cheers Bill. Lesson certainly learned and won't be making this mistake again in a hurry! Yeah deffo like the parents. The first set of eggs they laid didn't hatch out. The hen is quite old so wasn't sure if it was her or if maybe moving to a new loft had unsettled the parents. Second lot of eggs only one egg hatched out. So like you say this could be a blessing if it is potentially her last fertile egg. Fingers crossed though next year she will produce At the back as always both hands under the desk

Ringed a YB only to notice a week or so later the ring had come off and fell into the nest. What a waste Will keep it and train it up and hope its a hen so I will have some use for it. Lesson learnt, ring and then check the next day and the days following to check the *expletive removed* is still on!

I had Sigurdsson on me bench last week and he assisted a goal and scored one. So I put him on this week and put Rodwell on the bench. Then this week Rodwell scores lol

Hi Guys, What age is the youngest you can vaccinate a bird? I have a team of late breds now all ready to be jabbed up. But I also have 3 birds just left the nest 7-10 days go. Want to do them all at the same time, but not sure what age might be, "too young" to get em done. Also is the gear you use the same stuff for old birds as it is young birds? Any info much appreciated. Cheers, Pete

Ebay is best bet. If buying 2nd hand factor in cost of taking loft apart, labour, transport costs etc.

There is a guy giving away stock birds in the sales area of this website. Dont assume the more you pay the better birds you will get either.

Cheers lads for all the positive comments and well wishes. Really chomping at the bit and 2015 cant come soon enough so I can get racing! Yeah, I think thats a good idea. Will certainly add the mesh at the back and also the louvres at the front. Like you say better safe then sorry. Believe it or not I have taken down about 8 bushes/trees already. There are 2 more I can take down, the others are not on my property. I will try and accidentally damage some if possible in the coming months. But dont want to cause any bad feeling with the neighbors.

Got the loft up today. Bought a budget one instead of building one or splashing out on a posh one. I know you get what you pay for but current money situation and the new born means gotta be economical but plan to build the YB loft myself when time allows. Roll on the 2015 season so I can start racing
