Nae that i am any position to give advice 12 lost in first 3 races ,small team hard times but now days i am finding you need to toss your birds, gone are the days when you trained to first race then relied on the home exercising to keep fit .
What annoys me is you cant give them a toss to train them up between races ,flying at home is one thing but they need a toss just to freshen them up imo.
Pin Head meal ,hormoform & a touch of cod liver oil leave it to dry off for a while then top up usual feed ,i give this to my birds once a week young and old ,I dont know if it does birds any good but it does me just to see them snap it up
Terrible weather right enough hope you get yer birds its been heavy snow here for the last few hours its offering to lay everything is white here in Turriff.
At home exercising lost 2 hens 1 cock 1 hen had narrow escape but no use for racing this year ,put of training till next week ,no special direction just where wife is working ,cant put of any longer so will see.
I think yer right at the moment here the last few days have been blinks of sun ,hail, snow, strong winds nice the day just now though so i hope it keeps up 23 days to go.
Well have you ever taken your birds 10 mile just to get home and the birds are sitting on your roof well after this carry on i have come to the conclusion ,they know where they stay ,if they are flying well at home and are fit 20 mile 1st toss and 3-4 at that and then into first race 60 mls if they cant home from there they are rubbish .
What do you think of this stuff and how do you use it ,a drop on the birds tongue or in drinker do you like it or are you against its use ,and if its good where is cheapest supplier thanks.
Yes Roland ,you wouldnt be giving this in the drinker though ,as it is for the cleaning of hard surface,it is as far as i know harmfull to humans when digested ,an irritant to the eyes also .
At one time of day it was as you will know a needle and map job, now its GPS this form of position finding as far as i have been told can pin point you to a specific square mtr ,where as the old system could give you your whole back yard to play with .
Not that i was really paying attention to full moon etc(( but interesting to know))i put in newspapers in boxes and bowls, nest felts yesterday as well and the cocks were whirling around in the bowels and shouting for the hens straight away ,its more for me i left it later this year.
For a while you couldnt pick up a doo paper without some one having an offspring of him it just goes to show they dont all pass on their great ability.
They are missleading the north guys with this as i was going to buy a doo off a sale (foriegn sh**)but thats anither story and the price quoted was £75 tae me.
Since i have heard Saltire Couriers no longer deliver up here in Aberdeenshire and Higher up who do we look to now for this service, any of you lads have clue??
