  6. this deff needs explaining and sorted for the good of all concerned i as a member of the snfc would like an explanation of what has gone on here and an egm is the only way imo that is fair to all no cloak and dagger stuff if there is nothing to hide get it out in the open for all to see

  9. dont know what its like in your area billy but up here if your left with half the birds you breed at the end of the season you have done well m8 would think it will be the same where you are if your racing natural just give the eggs a good shake when there about 5 days old then let the birds sit them till they desert the nest and start to go to nest again this way you keep the incentive in the birds and you can always slip a youngster or chipping egg off your stock birds under them when you want more effort from them good luck with it m8 with a small team dont try to compete with the bigger team men choose your races and you will get your turn if you have done your job and your birds are good enough atb

  12. great stuff pete but only problem with putting it on the roof is when the sun beats down on it in summer it becomes tacky and the birds get it all over them better to slap it on then put another roll of cheap felt on top m8
  13. pigeons feeding dont have dirty wattles phil different thing altogethere m8 and any good fancier should be able to tell the difference
  14. morning guys
  15. this is the way i race my birds phil but always have one of the pair at home when the youngsters are less than 8 or 9 days old so if you drop one of the pair the other can still rear and race to the youngster or have feeders that you can switch them under if want the yb but rearing and racing is great incentive for birds to race home and for a cock you dont get much better than big yb in the nest and his hen just down on eggs or a hen on chipping eggs or just hatched out some cocks like this also its all about finding out what nesting condition your pigeons like most as they are all different atb with it m8

  23. on judging his first show today thru the wire old hens and did a great job giving a top flyer in alex wilkie a first prize i judged youngcocks handling giving grenfell and hill 6 of the 8 tickets including first and second well done to all the prize winners from jim and myself have a good season lads
  24. i only get 8 to 10 years out out my stock hens because i breed so many from them each year but my cocks were still filling last year at 14 15 16 and 19 the old guy will be 20 this year and is on with his daughter so here is hopeing he is still fertile but ive plenty at stock off him but will take the hen off him at night this year again so he treads her everyday when i put her back with him as this seems to be the problem with older cocks they do not tread the hen enough so eggs are infertile keep them stimulated by taking the hen out at night and putting her back in the morning so he is glad to see her and treads i do this up untill second egg is layed and it works fine hens are different once they lay all the eggs in there body there done sometimes you will get an odd one or two off them by giving them a fertile egg from another pair and after rearing a yb will stimulate her to lay again but its just your luck if they do or dont hope this helps m8 ps lightly bred from hens will lay well into there teens also
