  1. Got to agree with you there because without knowing others times we can imagine (me anyway)that you have the National Winner sitting in your loft,ok when you get the kick in the goolys later on when you find out the result ouch!but for a time you are on a different planet, lol,

    Mink

Had one that got into my loft and killed 36 of my pigeons a long time ago and will never forget that feeling,i put one of the dead birds in a trap and got it, when the pellet went into it the last thing it done was to sink its teeth into the dead bird,it was just over 2 feet long from nose to tail, never had grills at bottom of loft since then and when I did they were covered with wire but that's where it got in,lesson learned for me anyway.
  5. Well said gulkie and so very true.

  11. Cheers, just hoping we might get them on here lol.
  12. Just like to ask if young birds who have had ybs do they carry it in them as yearlings in some form or other or is completely out of their system,if not would breeding from them as yearlings be the reason some fanciers get it every year, only trying to learn from people more knowledgeable than myself Thanks.
  13. Great to see you back bigda, maybe get them thinking about the Irish route again, all the best from one of your pilgrims.
  14. Simple,Dont race them it works for me anyway.
  15. Yes got to agree with you on that.
  16. Good advice there from Roland and Gulkie there mate, nice and easy with them as yearlings and at 2year olds and racing to eggs or youngsters they will do you proud, pay no attention to the old wifes tale they must train or race as ybs, plenty who do are losing them by the thousands with ybs that have been hammered training and racing and the following year fill their lofts with ybs,try and stear clear of being a mob flyer who starts off with 100 ybs and can be left with about 20 they may have good results but at a cost,a few I have known treat the birds as numbers where as we treat them as our wee friends, love of home is a very powerfull tool so stick with it mate and all the best, never trained ybs or raced them for years and am more than happy what they have done for me,winning from 560 mls will do me fine, once again this is only my opinion and plenty will not agree with me but if it helps YOU in any way that suits me all the best.
  17. Was told a long time ago by Master Breeder John Crowder never to give black minerals,he said he had opened up birds and had found their insides to be clogged up due to giving black mineral,i never used them again.

  24. In Memoriam,Merchant Navy,1939-1945, No cross marks now where we lie, what happened is known to us,you asked and we gave our lives to protect our land from the enemy curse,no Flanders field where poppies blow no gleaming crosses row on row no unnamed tomb for all to see and pause---and wonder who we might be,the sailors Valhalla is where we lie on the ocean bed watching ships go by,sailing in safety now thru the waves often over our sea-locked graves,we ask you just to remember us.
