    Whats in your mix?

i can only dream of paying £7-10 for a bag of corn down here in sussex yesterday i paid £14 for a 25kg bag of gem premier (which has a lot of wheat in it) and my suppliers want £19 plus for natural (de scheemaeker bros) french breeding mix kev
  4. r.i.p tony my condolences paul to you and the rest of the family/friends may he rest in peace kevin
  5. its ok quite man saying replace bops eggs with pot eggs but we could never seek out all the nests and get access to them and theres way too many bops out there already what we need is a cull to reduce their numbers now but at least you bothered to put forward a suggestion and all input is good if us fanciers are ever gonna tackle this problem kev
  6. i havnt got any photos but suffer from hawk attacks so would be more than happy to help in any way that i can kev
  7. congrats ivlasked to u and the wife on a job well done u must be very proud i wish u all the nappiness in the world with the arrival of your new cock bird
  8. ive been trying kiln dried sand but it seems to attract damp when its raining and also it gets stuck to your shoes and ends up being trod everywhere ive checked my loft over and cant find anywhere that water might get in so im assuming that the sand is just absorbing moisture from the damp weather so am looking for an alternative
  9. im thinking of trying hemcore as a floor dressing but it would be great if anyone on pb who uses it could give me their opinion on it ? kev
  10. surely all birds deserve a 2nd chance as we,ve all heard about the one that took a wrong turn but later came good the bird got home and who knows what it had to do to get home but it will have learnt something along the way it got home so let it live to fight another day rather than just say bin it kev
  11. i live in a end of terrace house and my loft backs onto a row of garages so i get very twitchy when i hear anything out of the ordinary at night,we even moved into the back (smaller) bedroom so i can keep an eye on my loft,i really feel for molly and steve but wouldnt have thought a fancier would take all the pigeons, probably been taken for food :-/ if not hopefully some will return to the loft kev

  14. hi strapper it must be a nightmare living next to somebody like that,i know how you feel cos ive got a neighbour who never seems to go in his garden but the minute my birds land on my loft hes out there banging and clattering about in his shed knowing full well that it spooks em > as for your neighbour going on his hols without leaving food and water for his birds-well thats just plain cruel and i wouldnt have thought twice about reporting him and would have told him that as well the fact they are covered in lice probabley means he doesnt treat his birds for anything either glad to hear u timed in without ant problems though do u know why he stopped racing?
  15. great idea if u hav pfl but i would have to change the catches on the pics from pigeonglobe i get a lot of foxes here so thats a worry but it wouldnt take much work to make them fox proof id have at least two locks on each door and get strong wire mesh
  16. glad to hear shes back bakes
  17. just think of the chaos a go slow convoy would cause especially in and around the m25/london areas nobody else is gonna help us thats for sure we cant just sit back and do nothing ive had more than one of my birds given back to me by neighbours after being hawked who were totally unaware of the hawk situation one neighbour looked at me as if i was mad when i tried to explain what had happened she didnt even know that hawks live in towns/cities and was adamant that a cat had got my bird ( do they think i like running around my garden screaming like a wailing banshee )we have to make the public more aware of the what these bops are doing to our birds and wild birds cos nobody is gonna do it for us and we are fast running out of time if this years hawk strikes are anything to go by
  18. a fancier who is being constantly harrased by hawks/percy suggests in this weeks rp (letters page) that a convoy of go slow vehicles would be a good way of getting people to sit up and take notice im sure al lot of fanciers have already read this letter-what are your views on a go slow convoy and do u think fanciers would take part? i for one think its a great idea kev
