  1. Some pigeons do show a blue tip to their tongue. I spoke with an imminent vet on the subject years ago and he assured me that it was only pigment. Provided there are no obvious health problems just accept that the pigeon has a colouration on it's tongue which is probably meaningless.
  2. keep looking for something different to try and you will always be pushing yourself and never become bored with this wonderful sport. the late Jackie Good once told me that he was a 100% pigeon fancier because when he was not actively involved with the birds he was thinking and planning how he could improve on his performances.
  3. Thanks lads. I did enjoy a good season this year. Possibly I was assisted in this by a dry hot summer (by Ayrshire standards) . MIK---no wheelbarrow required I will have my big strong dancing partner with me.

Ayrshire Federation flew on a "westerly route" 2014 and my information direct from a very well informed source is that negotiations never reached the stage of making a formal offer to Ayrshire or even having a meaningful discussion with officials. This post was raised simply to correct any misapprehension not to stir the pot. It has no bearing on 2015 race points for the SNFC.

  7. I have a friend who had this starting about 3 weeks ago. He thought it started with a late returning youngster. He lost several unvaccinated birds but had the vaccine in the fridge. The panel are all Basics members and National winners. They are John Duthie, Tom Blair, Davie Jamieson and Ayrshire's own Ricky Young. Tickets are £10 available from Jim Savage or Mark Finlay---I can supply contact details. The price includes a fish supper and a free raffle. I am more than certain this panel have the knowledge to put you on the road to success. Robert Reid on behalf of Ayrshire Federation (this post was raised with permission of Fifer)

Even though we had a decent race on Saturday from an easterly point----Otterburn it looks as though some still refuse to pass the Dumfries area. Well done on your efforts to return these pigeons.
