  1. black pigeons to win races, ive had a few ,,,,,but just a thought wonder if theres any proof in racing pigeons,, black or white,,, in hot weather or cold weather, as white is supposed to repel the heat , and black absorb the heat,,,just a thought

    no would never send a hungry pigeon , a light "mixture " with some maize , but a full feed if at all poss at time of lib on the friday [a lot will depend on what system you use ] and to what distance you intend trying

    i would try and feed on a friday at the time of lib on the sat,,,,, if at all poss,, full feed then take away any thats left

    for a short race,, or rather not many hours on the wing ,, a lighter diet [not lighter fuel ;D] a heavier mix for a distance race , longer hours on the wing ,in my opinion

  7. yes , your quite right jstoon, my avian vet had spent time in trying to get this columbo vac ,, but came up with the same answer as your good self nobi-vac , they can supply easily and quickly they had advised me that if buying any columbo- vac , to check for , sell by date , as it hasnt been produced in this country now, for some time

    yes ,i would agree with this , but also to get them used to their new owner[confidence] and use of any sound [i,e rattling tin of corn] connecting with their food
  9. after posting a couple of weeks ago on the perigrines attack on the ferals [mixed with racers] ,,,,after visiting the new royal infirmary edinburgh [not 5 miles from this perigrine attack] ,,to-day , i wittnessed a perigrine [pretty unafraid of people?] comming to roost at dusk , it flitted about 10ft above the unaware visitors and patients , certainly not frightened , but roosted on part of a jutting out bit on the r,i,e, roof [this is not a particularly high building and with many pigeon lofts within ,say a 5 mile radius around this building .

  22. no neither do i , nothing, like a minus 2 degrees , to kill all the nasties in the loft , the pigeons dont mind this cold at all ,, birds were in the bath ,, weekend ,,frrreezing not sure if this would bring on a false condition?
