  3. If you want to fly down the west you will have to deal with the *expletive removed* air bandits down the M74, first. The guys in the solway should be doing the same down to about Kendal
  4. Thanks Alex and Steven, I had bad toss just before 1st race and lost 15 of my 60 ybs. I have had 4 of them back via the stray centre so not all doing well but im delighted to have had great returns again this year and I hope it continues in the next 3 weeks

  9. You get furry droppings after treating with antibiotics
  10. How much Stuart ? sorry ,we posted at same time
  11. Canker , also known as frounce, kills hawks. We keep them alive ourselves by keeping our pigeons canker free. Therefore, if we didnt treat for canker, the hawk population would decrease
  12. Yes they will be ok for this weeks race m8, im not saying they will blow the opposition apart but they will do alright
  13. I think this is a good idea I think this is a good idea also
  14. Just watched the peregrines on news. Somebody trying to steal eggs in England and sell them to the middle east for thousands of pounds. They nabbed the guy and the RSPB hatched eleven of the eggs and put them under foster parents. WHERE ???? YOU GUESSED IT, SCOTLAND.
  15. I timed 2 together last year to be 6th and 7th west region. As yearlings, one of them got lost at an early race and the other scored in the SNFC Ypres ( 456 miles )ps. she should have scored very high in result but thats another story. My point is, some go on to win as obs and some dont, just the same as any other yb.
  16. Get Eggy to scare them Angela if ye know what I mean.
  17. Get it dealt with Lindsay I couldnt keep pigeons like that without fighting back m8
  18. The YB National is very hard here in the west BUT, I wouldnt miss it for the world. I have been fortunate enough to win my section twice as well as scoring many times over the years from this race so my own bias opinion is WE MUST KEEP IT.
  19. Consett 117 mls, Almond Valley ( 15 - 20 ) Thirsk 161 mls, Lanarkshire Social Circle ( 15 )
  20. I also noticed birds werent thirsty on return. Obviously they had plenty of time to get hydrated while waiting on lib. This is another plus
  21. Well said m8
  22. Not many Ian as im sure the SNFC fees are £25 and not £20 as Walter states.
  23. aye , but its 124-138 mls Alan, on the whole I think it was a very good race, but until we know everyones returns we cant really judge it, I suppose
  24. I have noticed in my 38 years of keeping pigeons that every time we have a late liberation, with the first birds expected home in the evening, we experience a very good race. I think this is food for thought for all race controllers. Whats your thoughts on this ?
  25. Well done in winning yer club Davy
