  2. It is up to you. I always have my birds out over the winter months not every day but often. My old mentor the late great Eric FOX told me they need to keep fit flying out. He would have the hens out until mid day get them in then let the cocks out. MJB

  4. I have a good white hen who has maybe two black tail feathers. She was always thereabouts my first bird as yb. Sent her nfc yb race which one came first the white hen. She is Dennis Dall blood. Mjb

  11. So I just dont get it what has been written above. If there are birds untrained my trained pigeons will get confused? I am sure at every liberation there are some birds which should not be there but are. They do not leave the race point but there is always a winner. I have trained my ybs every way you can imagine. Short tosses loads and loads of them upto x3 times a day. First toss from 25 miles and even 35 miles as their first toss today, lost some. I have entered Ybs in every race going before the YB National which is 300 miles or more. Then sent some never had a race in their lives and got them. I would hate to send them to their first race without any training at all, if only x5 5 miles tosses. I did this with 5 later breds YBs and had them all home by the end of the night from mid day liberation. Good pigeons are hard to loose. OMO MJB

  20. Our garden has plenty of little birds in it along with the Uks smallest bird, not the wren along with Jays jackdaws and magpies. We do get hit by the sparrow hawk who also takes the odd pigeon. We have blue tits in the box too. I hate to see the sparrow hawk hunting but what can we do to stop it. Don;t answer this please. MJB
  21. First of all enjoyed my week at Tenerife pity missed the race by one day but always next year. Second qustion is this how much does it cost to get a bird from Tenerife to the UK? Anyone done this before? MJB
