I am told there were only 10 Airdrie members present so the club which I am a member were only a fraction of the successful vote as for date mix up sure,ly we can sort this out at delegate meeting , I am neither for or against the route we race but still think it crazy you all want to go on your own to the longer races ,WHY , I would hope you all would want to test your pigeons and own ability and to have your birds in a batch with birds from all over Scotland breaks them up and makes them think for themselves and with the bigger convoy they get a good start up the country before being split by bop . Stood with John at Snfc presentation a few years ago along with Jim Donaldson and my brother we were at the bar till past 4 am as he told us at the time if he can do it anybody can do it , am still failing lol

Was sitting with a group in Blackpool with several scottish national winners from both clubs and was fascinated how much they disagreed on certain aspects of preperation one sent them to most club races other s only one or two and one said you can't win feeding beans others said that's a load of krap lol but all agreed you must have quality to fly the gold cup as bad pigeons do not fly 500 ml on the day maybe obvious but was great to listen to.

The bulls are here also and are gorgeous birds but seem to be every other year as never seen any last year but woody is my garden favorite .

Think a few continentals put them by untl they are 2yr old then train them , my thought is that late breds are still growing when most of us reduce the proteins and only feed once a day ready for winter so they don,t get the nutrition to mature correctly ,jmo

Used to keep lofts spotlessly clean but still fell foul to a severe virus costing me most of my yearlings and most of the nationals , so no cleaning every week and not pairing racers until mid season . If they stay healthy they will be there or thereabouts come the big races .

Hope to be there but have hospital on the Friday but hoping to get a new appointment.
