I have had a few guys at loft recently an one in particular commented on me feeding beans to my national no hope,rs my words not his he said you have no chance winning these days feeding beans . So I looked up the gold cup over the years , From 2005/2015 When the more modern feeding methods would be in place , over the 10 year period the average velocity is 1214 ypm Then compare it with the years 1965/1975 when beans were the main feed the average velocity is 1310 ypm Even 1950/1959 the average velocity is 1176 so not a lot of differance . So I say sod your fats/carbs just feed beans and fly natural . Good luck all tomorrow .

I agree first time I have taken this approach but they are getting well loaded so will see .

3 cocks maybe 1 hen trained every day from 40/50 mls all week .too much who knows but they have not tried a leg all season so they will be fitter if that has helped and bulked up for the trip. Good luck all

Don,t agree about going on your own the fed may well have good transportation but why would the members not rather win a national than a fed race ? Why do we race pigeons ! So we can see our name at the top believe me coming from the flatlands (east coast ) nearly all the best flyers in the west have never been heard of because they can,t or don,t score in nationals . If you seen the smile on Wullie Macaloneys face on Thursday when I shook his hand that says it all for me George Wullie and Paul have done it all so if it matters to them why are the rest hiding !
