Cheers all

Thanks very much all. Fair pleased with the wee hen I'm indebted to the Woodroffe Brothers for breeding me the pigeon. If I could do the doos a tenth as well as these guys I'd be some flier. Top fanciers and top birds.

The Janssen and Van Loon based pigeons turned the scene upside down on their arrival in many areas. have to say the vandenabeeles made the biggest impact since these and the Busschaerts. Heremans-Ceusters getting into the same category. All depends on who brings them in and in what quantity I suppose. Good old strain for the North lads in particular-the Rene Boizards. Think looking at size of team and impact on long distance performers containing his bloodlines you'd be hard pushed to find a better Scottish breeder than Dennis Dall. Interestingly I'm lead to believe he didn't believe in strains or strain making and called his breed the Dally Mixtures

"To be perfectly honest George I dont know what respiratory is !!, I thought it had to do with birds gasping with open beaks and sought advice from Garry the Herbalist from Penrith when employed by C.J. but no problems were identified so I tried this trick. The birds were forced to fly an extra 5 minutes every day with me on the loft roof with a double barrel shotgun. After a week they were flying round the loft for maybe 45 minutes and all the gasping dissapeared." -Peter Pandy I thought it was the above tonic that solved that problem Peter

Breeding Brother And Sister
Rooster J. Cogburn replied to shweet's topic in Breeding, Strains & Families
I've a young hen here I got from a friend, bred from a pair of yearling nestmates that chose to pair together. She won the first young bird race in the club this year. She flew the full programme never being far away from my first ones each race and managed a couple of fed turns. She's not a big pigeon and is a very fast moulter, but I don't see much wrong with her-she doesnae have two heeds or owt Think with any mating in pigeons ye need a bit of luck? -
John Ellis didn't miss many yb nat results and never darkened. Could be talking out of turn, but think those able to get natural youngsters out these types of races have the doos on open bowl a lot and the youngsters have a different type of fitness on them. I'm with yeboah though. If your darkness birds are getting beat of your naturals you're doing it wrong lol

You'd a cracking team performance yourself Davie, a nice end to the season-takes a bit of doing to be there or thereabout from all the SNFC races over the course of the year

A big well done to John McNeill 1st,2nd and 3rd Section. Had a wee look there for my own interest and from the last 10 YB nationals into SectionD the Broxburn Bullet has won: 4 x 1st 5 x 2nd 5 x 3rd 3 x 4th Top class A special mention to my club mate Sam Graham, 4th and 5th Section after 2nd and 3rd WSCC Mullingar last week. A class act. You'll be missed up the club next season. All the best with your move shen.
