  4. Hi mick Lovely day here today the cocks have been out flying since 11 out and in periodically but their boxes are open Happy as an Irishman on St Patrick's Day lol The hens are not locked in the aviary and can come and go as they please They do become a problem as the season progresses however this year I am trying out an idea that has been rolling about in my old grey matter for some time it is a loft within a loft will not go into detail about that yet as some may think I've lost the plot Atb for the season Mick

  11. I have been in the company of very good fanciers and national winners Colin ,all have their fads regarding vents and single tail I personally have never judged a bird on its vent ,but the single tail to me is all about balance in the hand listening to the experts ,my good cock Saddleback has not the best tail but shoulders and a back like a staffie many roads lead to Rome I am more interested in the opposite end from the tail ( what's between the lugs) Atb mick

  15. We the Lockerbir club have 10 members We race mark and have done so for a number of years at the fechan and I must say their members have went out of there way to accommodate us all ,We all do our share and more hands certainly makes life easier When I joined Lockerbie as a Lad in 1972 there were loads of members ironically there is only one racing loft remaining in the town all the rest of us are to the north (moffat 15 mls ) one member to the east and one to the west of lockerbie We used to have wonderful social presentation evenings in those days ,nowadays not even the federation have one Between race marking and clock reading I travel a distance off 70 mls per weekend Now that's devotion lol
