I had yb sickness for 3-4years and could not stop it reoccurring ,however whilst in hospital recovering after an operation a fancier friend who is also a gold cup winner visited me and gave me some very good books to pass my time,whilst reading about a certain German fancier he referred to I am sure he called it bogatar ? In other words Colostrum, I gave it to my breeders and then the weaned youngsters 2-3 times weekly put them on deep litter and never had a problem for years now ,I am sure we cause the problem sweeping the lofts and causing the virus to go airborne birds can't handle the dust thus the problem ,however I will stick to what works for me and the very successful German Fancier ,Atb Mick

Correct ,When using a proper vaccination gun the bottle fits on top into the factory fitted needle ,you change the front needle every 25 birds max every thing you state regarding sterilising is spot on . But how many follow this procedure ? The gun is easy sterilised the very good quality one costs £100

I buy my feeding by the ton for handiness because of work commitments,Gem and countrywide both excellent best single product by a proverbial mile if used properly Bamfords Extreme Energy .

Agree with other posts that there seems to be water ingression somewhere causing the dampness ,regardless of outside weather conditions a loft floor should never be damp ,covering it is surely just hiding the problem ,all the lofts I have manufactured for fellow fanciers and countless national winners have never been asked to include low level ventilation and never fitted any in my own,something needing addressed somewhere good luck hope you get it sorted sooner than later .

Used easibed a lot but bad for trailing into the house etc,now got grills down with a mix of course sand and lime which is first class ,even the lime and sand on the floor will work a treat keeps all clean atb mick

I would hazard a guess that the convoy would not be intact by the time they hit the solway and as we all know only the winners are at the front after a few hundred miles or as Andy quite rightly states the 2% I for one would just love to have my birds tested against a large convoy with no interest whatsoever racing for anyone's money would be more than happy just being part of it ,Time we all took a good hard look at where the doo game is heading without petty bickering amongst ourselves ,No offence intended towards anyone .jmho

To Me there are many many Top Fanciers in all locations ,My top men are the unsung heroes that keep our clubs and federations running smoothly each and every Year and put in untold hours of graft and in many circumstances get only grief for their efforts ,If you are one of those Stand Proud .

Time all programmes submitted prior to AGM and postal vote put in place to suit all members regardless of circumstances it's called moving with the times .

Well that's all tidy at lofts for the day glorious sunshine very warm chill out now ,then of to pub at 4 prior to the bowling tournament later today .
