Roland Posted May 10, 2018 Report Posted May 10, 2018 My problem is that it says 'Can't - or couldn't - update!
THE FIFER Posted May 10, 2018 Report Posted May 10, 2018 I think I have my laptop set to automatically update, sometimes its a pest if starts to when closing down as it comes on screen updating and shows the percentage 10% and do not turn off your computer, it goes up to 100%, think it turns off itself but I always like to make sure, then it configures updates
greenlands Posted May 10, 2018 Author Report Posted May 10, 2018 My problem is that it says 'Can't - or couldn't - update!Scroll down and click on windows trouble shooter,it will go into your downloads, click on it and it will run, hopefully sort your problem.https://www.windowscentral.com/windows-10-creators-update-common-problems-and-fixes
REDCHEQHEN Posted June 10, 2018 Report Posted June 10, 2018 Yet another update, I have not been able to get on my computer this morning, I can't even get my sign in screen, just that bl##dy thing going round and round for 2 hours. Even switching it off, can't get rid
greenlands Posted June 10, 2018 Author Report Posted June 10, 2018 Last few updates have been really annoying Sue,slowed my comp and laptop down to a crawl, done a clean up with C cleaner and defragged a couple of times ,now a lot better.
REDCHEQHEN Posted June 10, 2018 Report Posted June 10, 2018 Fed up - no change in 5 hours,I still have not had any access to the computer as it starts the update before I sign in, so no access to anything.
Froog Posted June 10, 2018 Report Posted June 10, 2018 The update has wiped off my Print Shop again....4th time that has happened
REDCHEQHEN Posted June 11, 2018 Report Posted June 11, 2018 The update has wiped off my Print Shop again....4th time that has happened How annoying - I had to reset mine to a previous date, and was able to get on computer last night but it's started updating again as soon as I switched the damned thing on this morning
leslie24williams49 Posted June 11, 2018 Report Posted June 11, 2018 How annoying - I had to reset mine to a previous date, and was able to get on computer last night but it's started updating again as soon as I switched the damned thing on this morningI left mine on and forgot about it till it had finished, couldn't,t do anything else unfortunately.
REDCHEQHEN Posted June 11, 2018 Report Posted June 11, 2018 Mine wouldn't finish - still the same after 6 hours - hope it's not like that today - I'll leave it alone today in the hope that it finishes the update
greenlands Posted June 11, 2018 Author Report Posted June 11, 2018 Mine wouldn't finish - still the same after 6 hours - hope it's not like that today - I'll leave it alone today in the hope that it finishes the update Is it looking for updates or updating Sue ?
REDCHEQHEN Posted June 11, 2018 Report Posted June 11, 2018 I don't know - it starts as soon as computer is switched on and before I can sign in. I didn't think I had mine set to automatic updates - unless it reset itself on last update - I've always had it set to permission required. It's just a blank screen (dark) with a circle of dots going round and round
REDCHEQHEN Posted June 11, 2018 Report Posted June 11, 2018 That's all from start up - shows Lenovo logo and starts this No % showing - nothing
REDCHEQHEN Posted June 11, 2018 Report Posted June 11, 2018 Get Apple Kerching! Can't afford it!I've only got a cheap chinese phone as well - but it's doing OK! Was given an option to roll back to previous version of Windows 10 - which I took - so although mine only updated a few days ago - it was the April update seems OK at the moment - I guess only time will tell
Kyleakin Lofts Posted June 11, 2018 Report Posted June 11, 2018 Sometimes the update glitches if it is interrupted. I notice you said you switched it off and then back on again. No matter the bother and delay it causes you, ensure you never interrupt an update. Other than that, I have no advice.
paddymac Posted June 12, 2018 Report Posted June 12, 2018 I left mine on and forgot about it till it had finished, couldn't,t do anything else unfortunately. I done the same here, the only problem I had when the updates were finished was having to re-install my printer.
REDCHEQHEN Posted June 12, 2018 Report Posted June 12, 2018 The original update installed fine and uninterrupted, it's something else since then that is causing problems, so I have now uninstalled the update as I had no problems before it
THE FIFER Posted June 12, 2018 Report Posted June 12, 2018 Mine wouldn't finish - still the same after 6 hours - hope it's not like that today - I'll leave it alone today in the hope that it finishes the update you didn't switch it off or anything during the update,
