Hi guys I’m wondering when do we start our training for the birds as it’s april for the racing season starts, I just like to prepare my birds.

Still a bit early yet Matthew, I won't start training until the end of march.

Before you start putting them in a basket, you will need to have them fit and flying well around the loft. That was my first mistake with yearlings when I started, Matthew, put them in the basket before I had them fit enough.

Not for those that like the shorter races. My Channel birds are only just paired and have not been out of the loft yet since last September.

My season starts April 7th, weather permitting I will start training tomorrow......but I must state my birds are already fit and have been flying regularly since December.
