Interesting to note, liberations from Maidstone, Windrush and Stafford yet SNFC heldover. Time will tell if correct decision was made. was thinking same, forecast I seen looked good for a race, not perfect but good enough... time will tell, still a norther tomorrow so will still be a tester, but an extra night in basket not what we were looking for...

Think they have it spot on,lighter north winds and less rain on Sunday,its 390 up here so they will at least get closer to home tomorrow,atb to all competing especially the two birds flying to orkney

I saw the liberation on youtube Alan, complete transparency as all organisations should have. All feds and nationals should take a video of everything that's happening on the way down the road, feeding, watering etc etc, then one of lib and weather on way up the road, its a piece of pi sh to do and keeps everyone in the know.omho

good idea for a massive organistaion like the UNC, but for smaller organsiations there is the cost of equipment etc to think about, and its not all convoyers of a technical mind to carry out such a task, then you have the same old problem of who is going to carry out the job at this end... besides once the doos are in the air a video wont prevent bad racing or a peregrine strike... just my thoughts, yet another job within a diminishing membership.

It just shows the SNFC are thinking about the north section. some birds have to fly 400mls plus. If the birds were libbed today I doubt if there would have been many in the North. The weather in my area has been constant rain since yesterday and its the same for the whole of today. Good decision I must agree

Two txts this morning Del 1@ 07:47 from South Midlands saying rain now of and beautiful sunshine'

Other 1@ 11:00 from fancier heading back up road from Birmingham. Report was showery around Birmingham, broken cloud and sunny @ Lancaster. No sure how it is through in the Wild West. but it's a cool but fine evening here in the East

Can't change what's happened today, only hope for as good or better weather tomorrow.AW THE BEST

cctv systems cost nothing nowadays and work with the press of a button no degree needed

sounds like a great idea these cameras could be fixed to sides of transporter and would be a good thing also for the guys transporting and would do away with the question remarks did they or didnt they water birds

did birds rest before lib

did any escape

ect

 

all the required proof of feeding watering lib ect would be on disc to back them up if required

 

seems a no brainer to me and it's in everyone's interest

 

 

for a few quid don't think it will bust the snfc

we could put 80 percent of all the rumours to bed for once

they where saying at marketing that it looks more like a Sunday race so if that's wont they thought then they should have done baskets on friday just hope I dont drop to many sent 31 first season with young birds

Must admit I wasn't particularly happy with birds being liberated yesterday

 

Weather as forecast was totally wrong - never got a drop of rain here from 10am until gone 7.00pm

 

UNC Birds would have had to be moved had they heldover yesterday as there could not have been a liberation from Maidstone today (they were holding a competition

 

today

 

Although I was well behind - I had 7 back out of 9 sent yesterday (nothing so far this morning)

 

So with hindsight - the best decision was made (I am not keen on holdovers either, birds get fed in the basket )
