any finch x with an canary is a mule, any 2 finches x are hybrides, yes they are all infertile,

dunc50,the hooded siskin is classed as a finch and when paired to a canary the young, the young of them are fertile that's how you get the new coloured canary

only 50% are fertile and as an none native its useless in bbia,old boy,

dunc50,the hooded siskin is classed as a finch and when paired to a canary the young, the young of them are fertile that's how you get the new coloured canary

dunc50,most british breeders are using Siberian bullfinches and golfinches to cross into the native british

Is intermingling of breeds common in the wild ? I was at one of my regular haunts today, Clatto reservoir on the outskirts of Dundee. There has been a pair of great crested grebes there for a few years. What I noticed today, was what looked like a cross between a grebe and a duck ? Not sure if this is possible ??
