All types of waterfowl, waders, smaller types of gulls and crows, medium types of garden birds thrushes starlings pigeons etc ! They even hunt at night over cities and There is even reports of them scavenging on dead prey when food is short in really hard winters !! Basically theres not a lot they won't have a go at if it's the right size

Guest IB Posted December 24, 2016 Report Posted December 24, 2016 All birds of prey are 'at risk' from any disease or infestation from any prey they eat. You can see that from the reports on bird flu deaths going back to 1997.

billt Posted December 24, 2016 Report Posted December 24, 2016 There will never be a cull on solitary birds such as Peregrine's, only flock birds face a cull when infection is discovered, that would include our lofts so best to not take chances with ours. RSPB have no say regards culling, they are a charitable organisation set up for the protection of birds. Defra the Government Dept. are the ones that make culling decisions.
dunc50 Posted December 24, 2016 Report Posted December 24, 2016 seen a male hunting jackdaws about a mile south of larky today,

RSPB have no say regards culling, they are a charitable organisation set up for the protection of birds. Defra the Government Dept. are the ones that make culling decisions. If I remember correctly, the legislation either excludes or recognises that culling wild birds isn't practical or ethical. The flocks that face a cull when there is infection within it are farmed animals and birds. And because farming is on an industrial scale, slaughter is also on an industrial scale.
