Rooster J. Cogburn Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 A friend and I were discussing next year and the SNFC and threw this together. Saturday June 3rd - Buckingham Saturday June 17th - Maidstone Friday June 23rd - Roye Gold Cup (Wednesday basketting) Saturday 1st July - Ypres Saturday 1st July - Ancenis Friday 14th July - Burbure(Wednesday Basketting) Saturday 9th September - Buckingham Young Birds Yea or nay ??
Rooster J. Cogburn Posted August 3, 2016 Author Report Posted August 3, 2016 Roye to short IMO would stick with Reims Possibly? going on tradition It's a distance that would give every section in the country a chance to time a Gold Cup doo on the night from an early lib in decent weather, as well as a night less in the basket. It's long enough to be good race and a test within reach of more of the membership/potential membership than Reims? Ancenis still there if ye fancy a longer yin?

Ancenis still there if ye fancy a longer yin?personally feel the race is meant to be for the very best and Roye is to short especially to the shortest flying members, the race should be atleast 500 miles to the shortest flying members so for me Reims it must be and for the extreme distance fanciers they have ancensis
yeboah Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 Reims is that the lorry park where they fly in front of lorries when liberated Sounds like a common sence choice
VMS Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 Reims is that the lorry park where they fly in front of lorries when liberated Sounds like a common sence choiceReims is a bigger place than the car park expletive remove stupid comment
VMS Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 Let's start with Ypres,Arras Reims Ancensis then Roye and forget about the inland races that should be left to the federations

Folk couod still send their very best to a race 60miles less could they not?
Delboy Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 Reims is that the lorry park where they fly in front of lorries when liberated Sounds like a common sence choice As soon as you boys down there sort the west route then we will be back to racing down that way Mick, but until then im afraid it has to be east.

So we can have less than a thousand doos next year and struggle to get a quarter of them home?
dal2 Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 As soon as you boys down there sort the west route then we will be back to racing down that way Mick, but until then im afraid it has to be east. What's wrong wae the west route? Solway has had some great racing over the last2/3 years

geordie1234 Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 The Gold cup is one off if not the least supported race in the programme? This is crazy considering it's supposed to be the top race.... I think making it Roye for instance will increase the amount sent big time...Get fancier's confidence back in the race itself
JohnQuinn Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Personally I would ditch the first inland and move the second race to the 2nd Saturday of the month. This IMO would facilitate members sending to the Gold Cup and the longest race. I agree with Andy that the Gold Cup should be at least 550mls into the central belt, it is feasible a sprinter could win Roye and the Gold Cup is and should remain out of the reach of sprint Doos. Apart from that I would vote status quo in the channel races.
andy Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Oh well better hire the double decker bus or maybe 2 to keep Reims for Gold Cup
andy Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 If your going to ditch anything then the first inland National would be my choice and put Ypres back a week.

Great program mate do away with Reims all together in my opinion maybe put in alencon or roye but it looks good
Dmurray Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Oh well better hire the double decker bus or maybe 2 to keep Reims for Gold Cup Am with Andy on this 1 keep reims .Imo Reims is a good race point we where unfortunate this time to have a bad race but that was down to other factors not the race point fact
Dmurray Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Great program mate do away with Reims all together in my opinion maybe put in alencon or roye but it looks good Why get rid of reims ?? The reason for a bad race this year was human error not the race point you just need to watch the lib and yiu will see that
yeboah Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Great program mate do away with Reims all together in my opinion maybe put in alencon or roye but it looks goodAgree 100% Derek Like Lewis idea of Roye giving all a chance very good forward thinking Young brains like Lewis is what's needed to take the sport forward Not people going to Agm's with agendas to suit their own personal gains Just my opinion I feel Ypres is the race that's killing the gold cup It was only meant to be a commerative race ?
