Delboy Posted July 21, 2016 Report Posted July 21, 2016 That feckin question and you say now yer talking !! What kinda question is that and how the F does a man like you say now yer talking?? Now yer talking , wasn't a go at you or any cnut, it was a good question the guy asked and I was interested to hear the answer.Think what yer saying, I flew my ybs with Almond valley for years and they had to break and come the extra 15 miles on there own, it's interesting thread this so relax and stop taking offence when there's no malice in anything John.Ive stated my opinion on no training as I think it's detrimental to the convoy, but that's my opinion and like it or lump it, I'm entitled to it .You started a thread which is interesting so let's keep it at that.
JohnQuinn Posted July 21, 2016 Author Report Posted July 21, 2016 The guy askin the question was mocking the thread with it. Davie was polite saying he as being silly, it was Idiotic no silly. Nobody in their right mind would send Ybs first time in a basket with a Fed 50mls away. Nuts a might be but feckin stupid am no.
Dooheed 5 Posted July 21, 2016 Report Posted July 21, 2016 put your results up lets see how good your are,All the more praise ti ye if ye fly a big team and Consistantly churn oot Performances like that IMO !!

Nobody in their right mind would send Ybs first time in a basket with a Fed 50mls away. Nuts a might be but feckin stupid am no. I didny see the guy mocking it at all, I thought it was a valid question. How did my birds break from Almond valley in their first race , granted they were trained, but only to 15 miles. We don't know what birds are capable of and it would be interesting to see if yer birds did break and home from a fed 30-40 miles away.I bet ye some would make it as the thread says, they've either got it or the huvny. As I said before, every days a school day in pigeon racing. Pigeon Basics is educational at times and we have to accept everyones views and opinions.

I accept everybody's opinion, no necessarily agree with them but each to their own. Some ppl want Yb racing stopped at 100mls which tae me isnae right but that's their opinion. Some other ppl train the life and races out of their birds old or young and a don't agree way that either. Yer right every day is a school day and I will no doubt learn a lesson fae this approach but my best bred Ybs will still be going racing this year, a LOT of fanciers have already fed their's tae Percy for nowt.....Well no for nowt, they're feeding Percy so it's fit and strong tae kill mine when they go racing.

Most certainly was not mocking, was just interested in where you would draw the line,I think this is the best thread for a while and if I were to take offence as easily as you have then the mental quote at the beginning would be enough

peter pandy Posted July 21, 2016 Report Posted July 21, 2016 When I moved to Hatfield [North of London] I converted a shed and had my birds brought down from Scotland and bred 20 youngsters, First time in a basket for their first toss I took them 45 miles and liberated next to an airfield "which I did not know was there". The birds had just left the basket when a Fighter jet yook off 300 yards away and the birds disappeared in every direction. That night I had 2 home and the following day they all came singly till their was 18 home. Two days later I sent them to their first race at 100 miles and five races later I still had 18 with them being all home within an hour in every race and The nearest loft to me in the club was 20 miles South West. So perhaps it is a good idea that I forgot about and this blog has shaken the memory bank. P.S. I never trained them again that year due to work commitments.
frank-123 Posted July 21, 2016 Report Posted July 21, 2016 Everyone has different ways to train, manage pigeons. If I still had pigeons I would give them three or four tosses then every.race feathers permitting. Why run the peregrine gauntlet by the time you get to the second race they won't want to come out the basket due ton the fear of being hit. Good luck to you all with your youngbirds.
