Don't make me Laugh...is a clear indicator you don't believe what's being said so yer sayin men are dishonest.

Here's some Honest, this is what sending yer Doos training does.

You always get them saying don't feed this don't feed that and they are feeding it themselves so as u all are saying ma birds don't see the basket until the first race so does that mean u don't teach them to eat and drink in the basket

Wot about the yins you loose racing? Do they not end up sitting lost and flown down somewhere regardless of how much training they have or haven't had?

Saw batches going over me this morning in the p*ss*n rain half an hour after the thunder had stopped and 4 are sitting on the house roof to-night, 2 with ETS rings on and 2 without.

And those which have been flying around home but were. Based miles off their normal area by a peregrine.

Aye that tae Robert.....I know there is no hard and fast rules in the doo game but am not sure about the non training of babies. Could it be large teams of yb give the fancier the illusion of invincibility?

One for you john, would you put your untrained youngsters for their first race with another fed? Let's say an Edinburgh one with you flying 50miles or so to the west and no other birds coming your way

would you, your just being silly

Would you put untrained ones into that environment?

Well they have to fly the last 50 miles by themselves in most Nat races into the West.

The post started with the only time they are going into a basket is to a race. Which suggests they will all be coming back into an area of 5 square miles.

Our fed is over 100 miles east to west and if untrained birds were put from the extreme west side I firmly believe they would be decimated,we have one guy in our club (mid fed position ) never trains and is wiped out within the first three races, not intending to be silly just wondering where the line is? Would you start untrained over 100 miles then?

Not in a fed 100 miles wide then?

There will always be losses. First the rubbish and after that it's completely random.

On Monday I counted my pigeons and I was 15-20 short. I closed the traps and after 2 hours they started filtering back. They had 2 of my old birds with them which meant they had obviously been chased by Percy. Obviously they learn from the experience but at the moment I actually have better returns training than I have flying round the loft.

That's probably my fault.

You are in an extreme position where we in Central Scotland dont have your problems. We have 7 lofts within a 200 yard radius.

Appreciate that later ones would be jumped in but would you do it by choice with earlier ones? Certainly not trying to rubbish any methods on a good thread but the title was training you must be mental,I disagree
