Was talking tae the ppl that have a burger van I use regularly about the Doos. Guy next to me chipped in that he was my Enemy coz he's a falconer.

Told him nothing could be farther from the truth that it's the wild population of them that was the problem no those used for a hobby. He piped up that a pair were killed in Motherwell and it was clear he didnae like it. Informed him that if there weren't so many there would be no need for disposing of them. At the agree to differ point a told him there would be a LOT more done in if the numbers aren't controlled, then I went for Ma lunch.

The conversation highlighted 2 things..... 1. We aren't gettin our message across if falconers think we're their enemies. 2. They still think we keep Worthless flying Rats and are out tae kill every peregrine in the place.

Somehow or another if we want change we need tae find common ground as a starting point and we are a Million miles apart just now despite all our protestations. !!!

Your two points john.not the first time I have heard that.

Aye when the 2 parties start from a position of righteousness and indignity it disnae leave much room for progress.

Yes nature intended them to nest on cliff faces not in man made nest boxes in cities and towns.

Nature also intended rock doves to dwell on these cliffs, not in man made nest boxes !

Obviously the point is wasted on you.

It's obvious my point was wasted on you. My point was aimed at the rspb with regards to them fitting nest boxes in cities and towns for the peregrine falcon. My very first point was it only took a matter of seconds to dispose of this predator that's reaping havoc with the sport. Unlike when you see newspaper articles or documentaries saying the bird of prey would of suffered a long and painful death. Think being eaten alive would be slightly more painful. As for bird lover? You willing go to your loft remove your loved birds from their home transport them hundreds of miles from their family. Release them to run a gauntlet knowing there is a very good chance they will be eaten alive. These predators are one of the reasons I have taken a break from pigeon racing. Fed up of apologising to my birds when stitching up from their horrific injuries. Maybe I've gone over the top but hey ho
