chrissyboy1 Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 I would say the birds that were at Otterburn for the first time had a tough race and Lanarkshire returns were a mixed bag
dal2 Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 great job, now we know where some got to for whatever reason. They came south west into a head wind to get here frae otterburn
bullcock Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Spoke to a Lanarkshire fancier today ,although the returns in the end were good it wasn't a great race ,he told me at clocks some were missing half there teams ,and prob because they were at otterburn for the third time the others managed to find home ,while ours struggled . Ended up in territory they didn't know .Stuart, every season it's groundhog day, we can race all year East to Dunbar with minimal losses, but as soon as we turn South, the losses are too great, we need a new program either step South from Dunbar in smalll steps, or go in a direct route to Ottersburn via St boswell / Kelso, I don't know the answer but repeating the same thing every year and expecting a different result is foolish. Most will now stop whats left as Acliff will probably be another grave yard, so next year we will all be racing yearling that haven't seen past 100miles and we will be moaning about yearling losses before 200mile, again. and so on ...
