How Many To Send ?

i have Mr Cautious Fancier one one shoulder saying " just put 10 away" and on the other shoulder Mr Brash saying "fill the big basket lad" . only had a few training tosses and weather , although not great , doesnt look too bad ??

 

how many do you plan on sending ??

Sending about 30 leaving half at home. They can go next week ave no rush with them.

Do not put all ur eggs in one basket.....alot of disorientated youngsters will be in the air come saturday, i wont send a full team to at least 3 races in.

still "umming and arring" here , always try and keep a few back too , its normally the winners

can see our first race being a stinker to many fanciers sending unfit untrained youngbirds that will hold the birds at the race point giving percy a field day hope im wrong jim and i will be keeping plenty at home and we are well trained up

thanks Terry , had 1 @ 6 and 4 @ 10 mile now will pick some out . there next training toss will be 67 mile on Saturday.

IMO short flyers in the fed need twice/thrice the amount of training compared to the longer flyers in the fed. With the exception of percy more youngsters are lost overshooting their lofts and dragged miles past than any other reason.

Andy when you have had 10 at 10 mile plus then mixed them in with others for 6 to 10 tosses at 20 plus and they are coming well then race them.

i put 10 in a basket , Mrs Burgess (who must be obeyed) said , send more , so 16 have gone , North to North West wind forecast , lets see how they do ?

Andy my birds were liberated at 8.30am from wakefield--84m1720 yds----clocked first bird at10-35-11 went to club at 11-30 with 30 birds from 32 clocked-----other two waiting on my return --well happy---1st club will update on fed later.

weve ended up with 14 from 16 sent Terry , hoping the other 2 may show yet ? not bad for a 62 mile training toss today . 5th and 6th club ? good luck in the fed.

Well chuffed for you andy great result with your birds hope you get the last ones home -----things looking good at the moment with mine possible 2nd fed but one club result to come in ,fingers crossed.
