alex wight Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 Since I have been moving goods UK wide, it has made we aware of the courier charges and how they work it. At £70 from Leicester to Aberdeen, that to be honest is the cheapest. I Use "anyvan", which is a site that bids for your business, and it's up to you who you go with. The prices I have been given in the past are: London £100, liverpool £80, elgin £76, Birmingham £100, Durham £50. Just to give you an idea. I want to use the cheapest, but also the best.

alex wight Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 its the dearest ive head of for transporting birds alex are your quotes not for goods last one I used was delivery solutions £30 from newcastle to aberdeen Davie, some couriers quote on the journey as opposed to what the items/goods are. Some quotes from the bigger companies were way out the box, £250 to London ect. One company said " you are taking up 2ft sq, and i could put 2 tonne in that space, so you will have to pay for 2 tonne, and not the 30kg i was wanting to shift". The smaller guys are trying their best to make ends meet and are quite good, but if your lucky enough to get your birds on a van that is already going there, then thats the best way to do it. I try and be as flexible as i can with the couriers, telling them a rough time they will be ready, and hopefully have room on a van thats already going there, but thats plan A. I sometimes get to plan Z lol

glencameron Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 With reference to High Flier Couriers ………..And whoa betide if your wife happens to be in labour ! It is unfortunate to say I find the list of couriers on basics very misleading and not representative of actual working. I have been through this list that is provided with exasperation in the last few weeks. I am due great thanks to favours from Scott, Kevin Elliot. Jim Coutts and Colin Crowe. If couriers are to be listed it should state They deliver at regular times. I,e they are part of any existing network of couriers that does not rely upon pigeons that deliver in the UK or specific areasThey deliver to specific places with genuine prices shown As it is I am finding it considerably easier to get a pigeon collected from Belgium and delivered than through this list

Being in the North of Scotland does not help since Saltire has been let down with his link it makes deliveries to our area and North very difficultLets hope someone can get a reliable service sorted out to the North of Scotland Mark at A 2 B does deliver to Aberdeen Tel: 0161 654 6028Mob: 07794 575945E-mail: markwanderson2011@gmail.com Ian
philg50 Posted February 16, 2015 Author Report Posted February 16, 2015 Well maybe this is just a wake up call tae me ,from now on just tae buy local ,so will hae a bid on the local guys.
geordie1234 Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Well maybe this is just a wake up call tae me ,from now on just tae buy local ,so will hae a bid on the local guys.Plenty of top class fanciers local to ye m8 that's for sure
Valiant Fifer Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Can the list be revised and updated then with info from fanciers that use the couriers often enough to know what their talking about. It would maybe keep fanciers right and getting pigeons sent to them from certain areas on certain days would maybe save us a few quid.
THE FIFER Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Have cleaned up the couriers list, if yo know of any still on it and not in business let me know also if any new ones around please pobst them here, thanks
