geordie1234 Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 I thought kruger pigeons were distance doos sure his main pigeons were winning at 700kmOne day sprint to middle mate thats why mac brought them in 500 plus I agree with the names you mentioned
frank-123 Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Oh well there you go.... middle distance doos We shall see how long they last.
just ask me Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 So from 17 races last year he had 2 firsts thanks again glen your a mountain of knowledge
just ask me Posted January 27, 2015 Report Posted January 27, 2015 Oh well there you go.... middle distance doos We shall see how long they last. Id be fairly sure the top boys will win with these that's why there top pigeon flyers id like too see if they move a few up a few levels
Wiley Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 Id be fairly sure the top boys will win with these that's why there top pigeon flyers id like too see if they move a few up a few levels Personally I want to see not so good fanciers winning with the in names, when they start winning u know they are good birds and worth an investment
just ask me Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 Agree Wiley that's what I meant on this bloody phone again
moscow master Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 Foreign blood is debatable! When did Bricoux die? There are no Bricoux available nowadays. Purity is a farce. I would think, from the very little knowledge of pigeon history that I have, that most of the best UK bloodlines originated from the continent and Belgium in particular, but years of breeding in the UK has nullified the continental origins. Whenever a pigeon entered Bussheart's loft it became a Bussheart. These UK pigeons became whatever loft they were in at the time. The war decimated the continental stock and some re-stocking occurred with pigeons from the UK. The continentals are expert at advertising their pigeons and promoting sales whereas the UK fanciers are more intent on talking down the achievements of their pigeons looking only at first past the post, unlike the continentals, instead of achievements of individual pigeons. We are also very adept at buying continental pigeons instead of pigeons from our own country or area. I am not disputing the continental influence within the UK, but I am agreeing, to some extent, with the principle of good Scottish doos. Nobody remembers second prizes or silver medals only the winners Andy that's what we're all trying to achieve

Kyleakin Lofts Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 He was in our hotel in Blackpool they doo men were like flies round a sh**. More foreign dung that when the north wind blows they will hit the deck. Get you self "Hardy" scottish doos. Nobody remembers second prizes or silver medals only the winners Andy that's what we're all trying to achieve So from 17 races last year he had 2 firsts thanks again glen your a mountain of knowledge I would rather have doos from Jock Alston, Davie Donaldson, John Hood, Jim Hannah Derek Hay.You can near on guarantee there birds will turn up on a tough day From over 500 -600 miles. Oh Aye Davie Elliot won Messac 2011 They do seem to remember second prizes on the continent. As I said, advertising hype. The continentals are the experts at it. I can't be bothered to do it, but why doesn't someone look at Hardy Kruger's results over 5 seasons and then look for good hardy Scottish doos that have achieved the same over the same 5 seasons over our own racecourse. I am sure you will find the aforementioned names on your list.

Everyone is hoping we strike it lucky and get a superstar

Everyone is hoping we strike it lucky and get a superstar This can also be achieved locally. they dont buy a lot of local pigeons a lot more swapping of pigeons is done thanks andy This used to be done in the UK and still is amongst the top fanciers. I think there are too many fanciers looking to buy success without working for it. Good luck to them, but the old saying is, the harder I practice the luckier I get.
