greenlands Posted December 28, 2013 Report Posted December 28, 2013 Just bought a bale of rape straw, anyone used it before,good/bad points ?Have put some in the stock bird nest boxes, doesn't blow about when birds are flying up to or out of the boxes,by the way I don't have fronts on the boxes but have put an inch lip on the front to stop any spillage. :animatedpigeons:
OLDYELLOW Posted December 28, 2013 Report Posted December 28, 2013 The main thing with any straw is they can harbour tics and things so best to have it pre gassed
greenlands Posted December 28, 2013 Author Report Posted December 28, 2013 It's not like ordinary straw Mark, more like pine needles, also sprinkled some Diatomaceous Earth among it.
