Just to let chad3646 know if he ever decides to keep pigeons I would be happy to explain how to use hoppers .

Like any other system used for pigeons it has its pros and cons.but as I said if you ever decide to become a pigeon fancier I would be happy to help. :animatedpigeons: :animatedpigeons:

i used hoppers years ago because of work situ but unless you use a single grain in the hopper the birds will waste a lot of grain bye throwing it out to get to what they want and the only way round this is to put only one type of grain in each hopper so the more types of grain you want to feed the more hoppers you need or one hopper with different grain in differnt parts of the hopper if you get what i mean like three different shoots in the one hopper one for beans or peas one for maze one for wheat or barlely but never mixed this way the birds take what they want without waste and you need to be able to shut the hopper down at night or devise something to keep the mice out hope this helps

Walter as you know I have been on hoppers from February .and like everything with pigeons I watched and learned .

And think with the help of Alex Wight have come up with the feeding system that will help me .due to my work .

Billy did you make those hoppers in the photograph yourself or did you purchase them from a supplier. I wouldn't mind having a go at building my own if I had the measurements and a few other details.

Eye but the cost owe carriage would be dear.:lol::lol:

Not necessarily true doug. I use the cheapest methods at all times, just depends where the fancier lives and what deliveries i have going out.

its worth asking Pat

regards alex.

Hi Alex, I live in Derry which is in the N/west coast of Ireland as Dougie has said cost would probably be too much into this part of the woods. I like what Andy has said, any chance you could message me with the measurements and dimensions and I'll have a go at making myself one

Not a problem pat, I'm in the work shop at the moment and once I get details down on paper I will gladly give them too you. Delivering to you isn't a problem but as you say, where you live would probably cost the same as the hopper lol. Now I know where you live, I won't give free delivery lol
