hawked again Posted October 14, 2013 Report Posted October 14, 2013 The mink is not a British mammal, many were released by the "do gooders" when there were mink farms in the UK, they have no protection from hunting and are classed as vermin, some areas they are trapping them as they also hunt in water and are responsible for the demise of the water vole, hope you manage to trap it Your right even the RSPBasas want rid of the mink. They kill everything.

Guest Gareth Rankin Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 .*expletive removed* sake gareth thats a big fckr mate well done in getting the basterdyes, was surprised as to its size, have now found out how it got in to loft. Any fancier that has a traditional sputnik trap, then make sure at the top of the plastic slide that there is no space between this and framework of loft.
peter pandy Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 I know I keep on about electric fencing BUT they are the best deterrent for all vermin and coppers a day to run. Happy for you Gareth that you managed to trap it.
WulDon Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 nail the bassa to the front of your loft, others will have second thoughts if any more about...

Happy for you Gareth that you managed to trap it.Very pleased to have got it, must thank wee Norman Orr for expertise in helping me get it.
Guest bigda Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 this will not GET ANY BETTER with the wheelie bins and now the small food stuff bins being introduced there will come a time in the tips for the vermin to move out of the tips into the sewers once moreif the rats and mice go into or under yer shed for feeding the weasel will follow them, then the mink then the fox. the squirrels are eating the lid of the wheelie bins just now, making it easier for the rat to enter so they are evolving
gulkie Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Your right Bigda there is getting less less scraps of food for vermine but they still got To eat.

JohnQuinn Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 I read a stat that there is a mink for every 100 yards of river or stream in the uk, that's a helluva lot i'd say. time to introduce mink coats again i think. !!
