Guest Basin View Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 You don't need a crystal ball to know that when the result comes out there will be no open positions won from sections A. E. and F and very few from section D,have posted in previous years about two races semi nationals etc but unfortunately the same format will continue. Can you let us know why you think the result will go the way you predict.
alec guinness Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Can you let us know why you think the result will go the way you predict.History, wind, location, drag unfortunately from the past 15 years racing the yb national,"the best bird on the day","the fanciers in certain Feds don't send there youngsters far enough","just not good enough"! These are all comments made by fanciers who will time hours in front of fanciers in the above mentioned sections, you cannot help where you stay but please don't insult the intelligence of hard working fanciers in disadvantaged locations, good luck to all fanciers racing with the SNFC.

Thanks for the reply, your right about where you stay, believe me Montrose is not the ideal location either. Not quite sure who you are talking about when you say "don't insult the intelligence of hard working fanciers"
robbiedoo. Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Where would you like to see the YBN flown from?Jim you liberate them from the moon and some would still think they are at a disadvantage
jim cowie Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 CheltenhamI would be happy with that. Don't agree with split/seperate libs though, not a national then is it.
daviedoo22 Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Cheltenham400 miles into North section.
dal2 Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Jim you liberate them from the moon and some would still think they are at a disadvantageMy measurement frae the moon is shocking so I couldnae vote for that Robbie!

Not quite sure who you are talking about when you say "don't insult the intelligence of hard working fanciers" The last bit was not directed at you m8 but at the wind up merchants and the fanciers who cannot see past the end of their noses!
jim cowie Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Jim you liberate them from the moon and some would still think they are at a disadvantageRobbie, you know guys up here will send whereverthe race point is without complaint. Don't agree with your earlier point though as my best old birds this past few years were at YBN
gus Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 The problem is if we increase the distance then its not fair on the north fanciers but that would be the only way to try and shuffle the birds up a bit, maybe we do away with the yb national and just let the federations have there open races. It's a difficult one to call. IMO
alec guinness Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Where would you like to see the YBN flown from?Leicester for regions BC and G. Stafford for ADE and F,not then a national certainly but maybe a wee chance for a fairer outcome and also returns.
JADE Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 My measurement frae the moon is shocking so I couldnae vote for that Robbie! Would there be separate libs? I`d be concerned about solar flares affecting the doos
dal2 Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Leicester for regions BC and G. Stafford for ADE and F,not then a national certainly but maybe a wee chance for a fairer outcome and also returns. I know its old ground John but a combine should be setup for just this! The east/west race cards of individual feds on the west may scupper that?
jim cowie Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Leicester for regions BC and G. Stafford for ADE and F,not then a national certainly but maybe a wee chance for a fairer outcome and also returns. Why not just move it alternate years, but of coursewind will always dictate where winner will be. But no inland national has been won in north section. Yet

Stafford for ADE and F,not then a national certainly but maybe a wee chance for a fairer outcome and also returns. I started another post today "How times have changed" about the 1973 SNFC results where the Solway area had the 50 open positions. I was asked what has changed. my reply was the race points. Why do you think Stafford would be better for all the sections apart from B,C & G especially from the returns aspect.
