JohnQuinn Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 The sale today showed more than anything else that the members are right behind us ( the committee) giving birds from their Very best stock and racing birds. Thank you all.Even more Gratitude is due to the Friends we have from around the country who also donated fantastic Yb's to suit all distances and fanciers preferences. I would like to put it on record that Ian Lindsay of the Lindsay & Henderson partnership bought his own lot for quite considerable money and promptly gifted it to me. An unprecedented gesture from a true friend, THANK YOU IanYour generosity humbled me. I was also lucky enough to purchase the J & I Alston Yb, further strengthening the stock in my lofts. All I need now is the time to get the best out of them !!
bigjamie Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 THAT WAS GOOD OF THEM JOHN AND THE ONE YOU BOUGHT IS A NICE ONE MATE WISH YOU ATB WITH THEM JOHN IT WAS A GOOD TURN OUT YESTERDAY JOHN AND A NICE WE SUM WE GOT AS WELL
JohnQuinn Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 Aye Jamie it was a marvelous gesture and the breeding in it can only improve my lofts. Same can be said about the Jock Alston yb too.The support from everyone has took us forward 20 years in just 9 months, I'm now convinced that we will go from strength to strength over the next couple of years and will achieve our target of buying brand new lorries for the Fed that will see us well established for years to come.

Pelican Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 Not harsh imo, ive been ti 100s of sales in years gone by and its the same old same old attitude.2 muppets get bidding against each other and lose the plot.To be honest, not many ybs worth more than 50 pounds really but thats just me, mr sensible.
Guest stb- Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 Won't be doing it againbad attitude Derek it wouldnt bother me if mine made a fiver as thats a fiver more they have

Kyleakin Lofts Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 bad attitude Derek it wouldnt bother me if mine made a fiver as thats a fiver more they have Rab, I was worried that would be all it made at our sale, so I insisted they all start at £10. The fact that your one was one of the top three pleased me. It may have been the top, but I honestly cannot remember.
JohnQuinn Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 Really disapointed our young bird only Made fifty quid My own only done 55 quid Derek and although ma results are no where near yours over the last 3 years that is more of a reflection on me not the doos. The sire of mine is direct from a 1st W/sec hen when paired to a direct son of a 1st Open gold cup winner paired to a Jim Cullen silver award winner. The dam is a Grizzle hen I bought from Eadie & Kelly's 4th Sec 27th Open Alencon. So the bloodlines are imo impeccable but the bidders didnae fancy it, the doo has flown 5 races and was in great condition. The more mature Yb's seemed to struggle for bids though they will be easily broken when paired up next year. I still Thank both you and Johnny for your support Derek and I am as dumbfounded as yourself that yours didn't make 3 figures.
bigbill Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 John,Even the mac bird went for less than normal, But great sale and well done to you and the team..
JohnQuinn Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 John,Even the mac bird went for less than normal, But great sale and well done to you and the team.. Aye Billy it was a good sale, I'm neither up nor down whatever my birds sell for but I have had 4 different fanciers feedback to me this year that my doos have flown well for them and one I gifted to a friend was on the front cover of the BHW, that's where I get my satisfaction from, the price paid doesn't mean much to me at all.
blucock Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 You guys did a fantastic job, well in! Baz
JohnQuinn Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 You guys did a fantastic job, well in! Baz Yer own officials should be well pleased with themselves too, as you's had a cracking sale as well despite both being on the same day.
