Wonderful decision for the good of the birds

Mine will sit it out no chance us going for a Friday

And we own our own vehicle

THE THING IS M8 IF THAY DID NOT DO THIS AND

HADE A BAD RACE AT THE WEEKEND THEN HOW GETS THE

BLAME MRE YOUNG BIRD LOSSES

WHEN PEOPLLE LOOSE THERE YBS THAY HAVE NO YEARLINGS

NO YEARLINGS MEAN THE YEAR AFTER THAT NO 2 YEAR OLDS

AND SO ON

THE AMOUNT OF YOUNG BIRDS THAT HAVE WENT MISSING [ LOST ]

AT A WEEKND IS SHOKING NO WONDER THIS IS A DYING SPORT

AND PEOPLE PACKING UP AND NO YOUNGSR PEOPLE COMING INTO

THIS SPORT

WE ARE QUICK TO BLAME THE BOP AND RACE CONTROLLERS

BUT MOST OF IT IS US THE FANCER NOT THINKING ABOUT

THE WELL BEING OF OUR OWN PIGEONS

I FOR ONE AM MY OWN RACE CONTROLLER SO IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG

I am a member of Ayrshire fed its a good decision in my eyes, it won't have been one that was taken lightly by the race controller and the top table but if it works it may mark the way forward for us all to be flexible.

This isn't a new thing ,Glasgow has done this before .the snrpc has also .

Personally I am just that bit wary that the forecast will alter before Saturday and that it will be a reasonable racing day!

 

Forecasts have been known to change a great deal From Wednesday till Saturday.

yes novice you are right, they change quick unfortunately race controllers have to make their decisions on the thursday for sat racing and ime afraid its not looking good for the whole w/end till tuesday going by the bbc, your fed is right going by the forecast however its not an easy task taking races forward for the good of the birds, you cant please everyone so i take my hat off to the controllers, its a thankless job ime afraid.

Excellent. IMO you must act on weather forecasts and you need to take the decision fairly early on so that the word has a chance to get round the Fed. It don't matter a toss if after the decision is made the Saturday forecast changes, you'll have had the sky to yourself and your birds are already home on the Friday. You only need to look at the posts on here on a race Saturday when fanciers become impatient waiting on weather & other Feds clearing before the birds can get up. IMO it is safer to bring the race forward a day than put it back for weather - weather grounds BoP too. So they are hungrier the next day, and as soon as the weather clears they are up too, and not for the fun of flying.

Personally its been a very good race i had 19 / 25 at 15.30 and would hope that they will all be back when i get in from work. I would like to say well done to the fed officals and race controller.

I have been working on top of a hill east of Lockerbie and not surprised you had a good race it has been a wonderful day well done .
