greenlands Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 The lads on the allotments near to me are overrun with red mite, several have sprayed with various crap and the little bug**s are still there, this is a definite winner just incase you have any problems at the loft. Can be put on feed for worms on the loft floor or in the nest pans. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DIATOMACEOUS-EARTH-Red-Mite-Powder-5KG-Feed-Grade-/231017124717?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Poultry&hash=item35c9b1936d

ray Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 i've tried this greenlands and they still have problems with them i think it cost me about 16 quid at the time did the floor walls etc but the little sods keep turning up i've tried moxidectin this week but its thelast of my bottle i can't remember where i got it from so i hope this works on the little blighters.
Tony C Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 Use a blowtorch after spraying with either Duramitex or Chlorcarb to kill the mite eggs.

just ask me Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 if the infestation is so bad i bet there living in the roof even outside the loft and in places where even powders or burners can get too thats why i think poisoning there food may be the best method here
William Reid Posted July 31, 2013 Report Posted July 31, 2013 Well done J.A.M. :emoticon-0137-clapping:
Guest IB Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 Stalosan F is a dry floor dressing which kills everything including insects and their eggs. Mites have a waxy skin which they breath through. Stalosan gets into nooks & crannies and sticks to everything. Dust nest boxes & perches with it too. Sounds quite expensive at around £30 a 25kg bag if you order on-line (carriage), but it will last a year.
Guest paulrstokes Posted August 1, 2013 Report Posted August 1, 2013 this stuff is the dogs danglies Order online usually here within 10-14 days. I was recommended not to spray directly onto birds http://vetafarm.com/avian-insect-liquidator.html
