big blue bar Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 We were at the Newbury nat race timing in at 4.53 flying 377 (one of the furthest flying members in section C ) only to find our bird didn,t make the result . why is nt there more birds put up on the result we wasted petrol to go through with our clock noing it wasnt winning the race, but a bit off recognition would of been nice.

Its the rules, 1 position for every 10 enrties.
blucock Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 for what its worth I think the top 10% in the result PLUS top 10% each section should make the result - otherwise most of the time some sections get just the first 4 or 5 doos in
frank-123 Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 Don't need to water it down anymore. If you make the result then you and your birds will have deserved it.

If you make the result then you and your birds will have deserved it.Spot on frank I think people flying in other national organisations become used to seeing their name on the result for timing in!!,there must be standards and the SNFC 1 prize for every 10 entries is about right,we personally missed the result by a few yards but that's doo racing in the SCOTTISH NATIONAL FLYING CLUB.
big blue bar Posted June 13, 2013 Author Report Posted June 13, 2013 i hear what your saying frank , we are 11 miles away from being in the north section maybe i should move to stonehaven i would of been 3 north section but i suppose there is members like myself in every section of the national
frank-123 Posted June 13, 2013 Report Posted June 13, 2013 i hear what your saying frank , we are 11 miles away from being in the north section maybe i should move to stonehaven i would of been 3 north section but i suppose there is members like myself in every section of the national Sorry to hear your so close to the North section so missed out. As you know there has to be a line somewhere. Now if your talking about moving sections then get your proposal into the snfc. Am not to sure of the lie of your land so can't comment. John The snfc have started to copy the Snrpc when it comes to the longest race by adding "timers," it's wrong and shouldn't happen. Imo

Guest IB Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 IMO it is a difficult question to shrug off with '1 in 10 prizes' answer. It is a bit like the multi-clocking we have with ets. Some were not happy that it pushed their name further down the RESULT but for the first time it gave a true reflection and a true RESULT of the race. Not all pigeons in a race win prizes so a result can't be just prizewinners. Even if there was a statistic that gave the number of birds timed - if only to reflect the returns.
