frank-123 Posted June 4, 2013 Report Posted June 4, 2013 I liked franks dad wattle , a very good pigeon man , I used to go in and see him every Monday when I worked in Blantyre years ago , a cuppa and a natter out the back , aye and no big lofts and hunners o doos , a wee L shaped red and white stripped loft about 20 ft in total . He had cracking blues and blue pieds , Irish birds , the big b,ger would nt say where they came from . Thank you for the nice comments Stuart. The Irish birds were from a friend my father met in Malta. He never raced pigeons but he would bring my father pigeons over from his friend in Ireland. Can't mind his name though. My father like small to medium birds for the distance races.
bigbill Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 yearling from sat race just back (cheq) black as hell. but good to see it.
Blue Chequer Pied Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 you have to bear in mind all liberation sites have to be booked and paid for well in advance,so what do you do book and pay for some down the west and same again down the east and as somebody else pointed out Leicester is more central,do you not think it would be detrimental to the birds going down the west one week then down the east the next or vice versa So what happens when feds have to move i.e come shorter in order to get a race to to adverse weather conditions at the proposed liberation site? I am sure nobody will have the foresight to book an alternative just incase.
