Guest chad3646 Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 Safe to say a 'good doo' doesn't get lost from a training toss in the 1st place a take it you ,ve not had the pigeons long :emoticon-0138-thinking:
Guest stb- Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 yes but barring accidents the good ones will work their way home.....you dont lose good doo.snot just accidents top class doos get taken by the peregrines every day and loads injured crashing into roads trees and anything to get away from the murderers . just look at some of the threads birds training vans being attaked all over last few days as soon as they are libbed . its not the one they take its the carnage they cause while doing it and birds flying hundreds miles wrong way to get away from them . I have had birds being trained at 20miles and percy hit and end up 300miles away that night a take it you ,ve not had the pigeons long :emoticon-0138-thinking: he obviously dosent fly into cumbria or west to central scotland chad
Guest chad3646 Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 Rubbish Plenty good doo.s have been lost at training for one reason or another spot on bibendium i and good national pigeons at that, they want to keep there mouths shut
bibendium Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 yes but barring accidents the good ones will work their way home.....you dont lose good doo.s Sorry but you are in cuckoo land. good doos get lost too. I lost a cock 2 weeks ago that had 2 1st Feds/ a 4th Fed/a 5th Fed, from 150 miles not much more than a training toss.I have also lost doo,s that have won 1st prizes from less than 30 miles.
dal2 Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 I had a wee doo returned in a van to me last year and she did alright before and after?
alec guinness Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 I had a wee doo returned in a van to me last year and she did alright before and after?Yes she did alright m8 super doo fantastic performances
JohnQuinn Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 18 lost racing 3 training left with 5 once they go I am finished with it, giving my youngsters away getting rid of everything It's been rough all round Derek, take yer time on yer decision, who knows the wans that have survived might just kick on and get ye back in the mood for them. Big decision mate, take yer time. Atvb John.
JohnQuinn Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 Ohh, incidently! I've lost 3 at training. BUT i'm down 16/24 Ck's, my hens have faired much better, ONLY! dropped 8/26. However on the up side there are still plenty of experienced doos from 2011 to 2009 still here, so all else going well i should be able to have a wee go at the SNFC races and especially the Ypres race in the Fed. So i suppose every has a silver lining, just no easy tae see it at times.

Big decision mate, take yer time. Atvb John.I have been pondering about giving them up for 3yr now not getting a buzz from them even when things are going well. Not saying a wont have them again just had enough for now.

YES YOUR BIRDS HAVE FAILED TO RETURN ....BUT WHY..? CAN YOU HONESTLY SAY THEY GOT LOST,TELL THE TRUTH ....AND THE TRUTH IS YOU DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM,THEY JUST DID NOT RETURN,EVEN FROM A SHORT TRAINING TOSS ONCE YOUR BIRDS ARE OUT OF SIGHT YOU DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENS TO THEM,PERHAPS YOUR 2TIMES FED WINNER HIT A WIRE AT THE RACE POINT OR ENROUTE YOU WILL NEVER KNOW.
yeboah Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 Lost a cracker of a 2yo last night from 20mls the other yearling turned up this afternoon badly cut up 20 hours for 20 miles must have hit one of those ufo things again don't think so .

andyyy Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 I have had pigeons a while, which doesn't make one bit of difference. A good bird doesn't always work home - a mate of mine lost a old bird who flew amazing as a yb, Yearling topping the fed a few times, As a two year old he sent it it came topped the fed, The week after he sent it, Nowhere to be seen or heard of. That pigeon could be in someones loft as we speak, One day it could get out and return home... What do you do? get rid after all, It let the owner down. Ofc you don't get rid of it, You give it a chance, As you should with all pigeons, If they let you down again and again thats when you look at getting rid

andyyy Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 YOU HAVE JUST AGREED WITH ALL I HAVE BEEN SAYING YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BIRD,WHAT YOUR SAYING IS ALL HYPOTHETICAL WHAT IF...WHAT IF........BIRDS THAT HAVE LET YOU DOWN WILL DO IT AGAIN WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH,BY THAT TIME YOU HAVE A LOFT FULL OF THEM......OR Y/B BRED FROM THEM.... how is that agreeing with you? A good bird can make a mistake as much as a bad one. just because a pigeon get's lost it doesn't make it a bad bird. If you really are that stupid to think that all birds lost are bad birds then i really pitty you.
big blue bar Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 i was going to post on my losses but i think this topic has went off course
JOHNSEE Posted May 30, 2013 Report Posted May 30, 2013 how is that agreeing with you? A good bird can make a mistake as much as a bad one. just because a pigeon get's lost it doesn't make it a bad bird. If you really are that stupid to think that all birds lost are bad birds then i really pitty you. you mentioned a friends bird flew very well as a y/bird...topped the fed twice as a yearling topped the fed as a two year old....then it failed to return the next week the real truth is you do not know what happened to this bird. the rest is hypothetical what if it went into another fancier.....what if it escaped then returned home what if...what if...?

flying fifer Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 I will split my team now and select individual birds for certain races. Have topped Federation twice this year and not been out of top 20 in any race.[/quo reads like you fly a good pigeon, you say that you have not been out of the top twenty this year, would that be club or fed. top twenty .....keep it up...good flying.more to the point good returns. Top twenty in Federation, hope to send 15 this week and maybe send to Newbury

JOHNSEE, on 27 May 2013 - 20:08 PM, said:should have disposed of the first time.....how many y/birds do yo have off them...? dispose of a pigeon for doing something wrong... Like i said from the 1st post, a bird always needs another chance to redeem it's self and in most cases they do. It's the odd time a pigeon just wants outing. a good bird can only work its way home in some cases eg, If it flew 200 miles over it could work it's way home, But if its dead or locked in someones loft it hasn't got a cat in hells chance of getting home anytime soon.
