Think its a disgrace that SNFC willing take memberships, birdage fee,s and not provide

best possable up to date transport available 4 wat is suposed to be Best of Scottish Pigeons,

They think that much of SNFC that they havn,t up dated thier website since 2008 ( unreal )

to much bickering and personal grudges, decisions made in pubs an houses by the few, thats wits killing this sport, the members pulling it apart instead of pulling Together, and as 4 having to hav wait till AGM to change ruling( HELLO this is beginning of SEASON ) if its 4 good of Birds this should be brought forward ASAP ( EGM mayb ) sad state b in, u suspose to injoy hobby, how can u if u think ur birds aren,t getting the Best, jmo

 

And i wish Lanarkshire Birds Members ATB we their Transporters,wish my birds treveled in these,

your feds returns are far better than ours over the last few years

and you have a old style transporter and we have a geraldy

were flying the same route basically

jurys still out on which is best

and what the birds prefer

Can't see what's baffling about what was posted? I can assure you it was me that posted it.

 

The quality of transportation the SNFC have used in recent years is not an issue for me. When wickers baskets are used and good racing is had transportation is never mentioned, when it's a bad race from the same baskets on the same transporter then the cries of poor transportation can be heard all over.

 

As for the website I genuinely don't believe it would do a great deal in promoting the national winners. The SNFC have a PRO who gives good coverage in the fancy press, in fact the Scottish National coverage in the pigeon papers is the envy of many fanciers racing in organisations that can send 10 times as many birds to their races. I have this on quote

 

I suppose it could be used for online auctions.

That's another thing that could be looked at two ways

You see yourself as a traditionalist, but you will not get a bigger traditionalist in the SNFC that myself ? but theirs a difference, that is, i would prefer that the members are given the best quality of service there is possible and be a progressive club that keeps moving forward, and at the very same time hold on to the traditional parts of the Scottish national that counts, you on the other hand don't want to move the club forward. Standing still is no good in 2013, keeping the "same as" attitude wont work in protecting the clubs great history, i would say the last man that took your attitude was another man from Avonbridge, and look what happened there.

Lewis, you are a 22 year old lad with very little experience in the ins and outs of National racing and yet you act as if you are an old hand in every area of the sport.Ive been in the pigeon game since I was 5 years old ( 42 years )and when I was 22 I would never have opened my mouth to my peers ( and I was a wild bassa ) never mind try and convince them on how to do things. Im not for one minute trying to discredit you in anyway but there are things that just dont add up when your posting.

 

I'm actually 23 Derek , but age is irrelevant when it comes to opinion on transporting birds and the SNFC website.

 

The word transparency has been used a lot on here and its a word only used by some when it suits them.

 

Reading certain fanciers posts as a collective,not individually and knowing some of their views from conversations with people or hearing them talk at meetings I have come to a couple of conclusions. I'm sure I won't be the only one that is aware of the real agendas behind the comments.

 

I don't think an up to date SNFC website would do any harm, I just don't think it's of great benefit regardless of whether or not it's 2013 or 1913.

 

Lastly I don't view myself as an old hand or a traditionalist, these are other peoples words not mines. There are a number of old hands and traditionalists I admire for their achievements in pigeons or just because I like them as people and I listen to them before I make up my mind if I agree or disagree with what they say.

I agree with yourself and Gareth on as many points as I disagree with you on and I don't feel the need to justify myself further or fall out because I don't agree with you on this one.

would hav no complaints if my birds went in it,Ma birds na say,n much so dont know wat they think Our one getting old, can leak, aberdeen hav had few bad ains starting week b4 us Useully ?? but havnt we all, i would perfer deep shavings rather than paper,

think Stb spot on, birds lyn doon comfort, resting, conservin energy 4 big event wat more would u want to give ur birds best chance, think somone said got guards to stop shavings going in drinkers jmo ps wiz that u trainin fa spurryhillock on monday tues bout 1pm ?? ;)

178 Posts have been typed when all that was required was for any official of the SNFC to either update the SNFC web site regarding the transportation of our birds or post an official statement on forums. Tranparency is not in the SNFC vocabulary to my mind.

Ive learned, if your egos too big then it can waste your talent.Your never too young to have great talent but you can be too young to have experience and that was my point, with respecting peers etc. . However,I wish you well in your quest to become the next SNFC President Lewis.
