There's got to be a better sport than keeping pigeons, just talking a clock testing last night, worst start to a season this year, all the lads are scared to let them out.Nothing back hit at 08:15.hrs

Was not an attack the way I'd have thought fast n hard. Was bang in middle hoping for one to break. I thought they stayed at the back and hoped to split them or smashed into batch! I was stunned at what I seen, My batch banked and it broke out from them and flew away

b.massey Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 Yeah never seen many Percy attacks prior to last year and was bemused at what I was seeing
mushroom Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 A few years ago I had a one flying under the batch, then suddenly another dropped in to them from above and took a pigeon, it looked as if the one flying with the batch was causing a distraction while its partner attacked from above. Pleased you got them all Lindsay.

greenlands Posted March 8, 2013 Author Report Posted March 8, 2013 keep them in for a few days mate, i am.That's it till the youngens get up a bit, plus the weathers going to take a dive, snow, cold East wind for a few days.Looks like an extra blanket.
Guest Owen Posted March 8, 2013 Report Posted March 8, 2013 We have all three BOP in this area. Loosing pigeons is bad enough but the damage they are doing to the birds' confidence is awful to see.I am seriously thinking of packing up this year. There is nothing nice about that terrible feeling I get in the pit of my stomach when the birds are out.Aside from the BOP situation I am fed up with the politics of the sport. Some of the meetings are like open warfare and the tittle tackle and gossiping is worse than a playground sometimes. Then there are the old fashioned people who want to fly birds like they did years ago and resent the people who work hard and fly using modern methods.I have just come out of hospital after a major operation and I am feeling grumpy and cantankerous. Maybe things will look better tomorrow.
