walterboswell59 Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 how far would u take ur ybs for there first toss?depends how long they were locked up my 18 late breds have been touring the sky all winter they had 6 tosses at 12 miles in october so they will go 20 mile first toss the rest will start at 12 miles as they have only been out the last two weeks

ALF Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 I have took them 30 mls 1sdt toos and got them all i usually start at 16 mls and most times get them all but last year started them at 5 mls twice as i had heard bad reports of percy at the 16 mls stage (Carnwath to us) and they came well and once jumped further they came no problem but had been flying ok at home

paullock Posted March 3, 2013 Report Posted March 3, 2013 Take them 5 miles, then slowly move them on, mind they are only babies. Five miles is safe for me also to start, So why is it when I have jumped them in the past I have had losses from say a 20 - 40 mile jump? last year was bad.
